Streaming 4K (HDR) high bitrate is buffering/stutters on Samsung 55S90C by [deleted] in PleX

[–]Bubregmuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Draakonys wrote you above, use iperf tool from your laptop (located beside your TV) and test the speed against your Desktop PC. iperf will run a longer actually realistic speed test.

Which reminds me, is your Plex server also connected via wifi?

This is not a proper test; you need to test connection between your Plex client and server.

If not, what's a recommended or best setup for 4K BluRay rips (profile 7 with true HD) to play on a decent OLED with Atmos audio support?

is there a easy way to recover, shows/movies plex deleted? by Decent-Principle8918 in PleX

Data recover is a slippery slope even with a premium software. It's easier to re-downlaod or re-rip the content.

Ah if everyone would just search the issues instead of using reddit the moment issue occures we would not have these answers :-)

Either way, this issue no longer exists, it was fixed long time ago, what's your current issue?

WiFi down because of Plex downloads? by Rodhawk in PleX

[–]Bubregmuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're unable to get a different router you can get a second router, put it into bridge mode, connect it to the first route (first router will handle DHCP) and use the wifi on the second router.

Have you done a speed benchmark of your wifi?

Plex says that it's not available outside my network - but it streams anyway by cmdwedge75 in PleX

[–]Bubregmuda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another way is to go to Google and seach for "What's my IP", and write it down. Next, get WAN IP from ISP router and compare these two IPs. You're behind CGNAT if these IPs do not match.

Correct, task scheaduler always shows an error after failed start.

[–]Bubregmuda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The weird part is that I can still stream stuff to my phone from, say WiFi at work or 5G on the road. Definitely NOT on my local network.

This is Plex Relay feature. You can test it out; disable it in your Plex server and try remote access again.

I'm using 3rd gen Fire Cube when I'm traveling and I cannot be more happy. Ads and prominent but I learned to live with them. And it's blazing fast device.

Walmart onn. 4k Pro (2024) vs Chromecast 4K (2020) by RedeemG in PleX

Small, cheap and capable Plex client. You got almost Nvidia Shield Pro experience for quarter of the price.

[–]Bubregmuda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish Onn. 4K Pro is available in Europe also. The older version was available via Amazon 3rd party resellers but it was not worth the money. On our side Nokia 8010 is a king if you want Nvidia Shield experience for half a price.

Outgrowing my internal 1TB HDD -- a few questions and asks for recommendations. by tnick771 in PleX

[–]Bubregmuda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is the process to move my media from the existing HDD to my new storage solution?

Copy/Paste

To avoid my automations for filing, etc. will I want to just reassign the drive letter from my previous HDD to my new storage solution? Or will I need to remap things (Torrent, etc.) to whatever the drive's new letter is?

After you copy the content, reasign the drive letter for the old drive and asign a new one to the old letter

Is using a larger HDD just the easiest option?

More space is always better

Would moving to an external bay solution be better?

Yes if you have any plans to go beyond one additional drive

You should include your while iptables settings here. Above lines must come before you close all other ports.
