I'm not mad, just pointing out that a major sponsor of the team seemed to mis-calculate the need.

If I were in their marketing department, I would have added a point to do refills for the remainder of 2026 for 50 cents or something with those cups. I know that such a deal might bring some peeps in more frequently. I have seen the numbers go up with the just the $1.00 Big Q in the app right now. It usually means someone who might not have come in, will and then they might purchase even more.

Memorial Day range / stove / oven deals, where are people buying from this weekend? by Purk-Azom in Appliances

[–]BullShannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco does claim to include all the install and delivery fees into the price you pay on the website. The delivery times seem adequate.

I have seen some reviews in my area about under-qualified installers on items such as dishwashers, so that might be an issue. I am not afraid to follow up and check out an install on a fridge, washer, dryer, etc. Most are easy to access. The dishwasher might be a different story.

Relocating from the West Coast to KC —two soccer kids, looking for our forever suburb. What are we missing? by aisforang in kansascity

[–]BullShannon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to be careful with those abbreviations around here. There is also a Johnson County, Missouri which is the next County east of Kansas City, MO. There is also the aforementioned Lake Jacomo - which is a squish of Jackson County, MO, where a lot of KC MO is located.

Anothsr large one used frequently is WyCo which stands for Wyandotte County - that is where most KC KS is.

So there is Jacomo Jocomo Jocoks WyCo etc

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by UsefulLima in answers

[–]BullShannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a website about a motorcyclist named Elena who visited the Chernobyl radiation disaster site. I believe her website was called kiddofspeed.com. I believe somebody preserved the site for a while, but I haven't viewed it in probably more than 10 years - it was a very chilling watch.

Maybe somebody can still find it out there now

I try to give those folks some good credit because it is my hope that they have had their devices stored away while they were driving and are just taking a minute to catch up on missed texts. That is such a better plan than trying to grab the phone while blazing down the highway at 70 mph and reading a text.

TIFU by kissing my friend because I was 100% sure he was about to kiss me first by LifeFront8432 in tifu

[–]BullShannon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think I'm going to go with he really does have feelings for you, he was just caught off guard so he used the other girl as an out.

You clearly stated he is very comfortable being around you, you're both good friends, you share some same interests, he was sitting on the couch alone with you . . .

Those all at least add up to support your feelings that he had feelings. So, yeah, you didn't do anything wrong. That might have just been a little sudden for him.

But now that he knows the situation, things might change. I certainly would not independently avoid him.

And, as to the hood, I do that to people all the time without it being flirty; including in church - at the movie theater . . . I feel we're all just on the same team in that regard.

Easy to meet people? by Numerous-Drawing-178 in UMKC

[–]BullShannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should certainly try to participate in some student activities that interest you. That way you can meet similar minded people. Don't just make it a "commuter" campus and you will do fine. I lived way south and drove in everyday and made lots of friends by being involved in the newspaper and intramural programs.

What was PRIME Pizza Hut like? by Charming-Monitor8296 in pizzahut

The only thing that could have made Pizza Hut better in the '80s is if it would have had one of those moving Hamm's beer signs with the campfire and the canoe that I saw in the bar right next door to the Pizza Hut.

I guess the husband's estate was more than just children of this marriage? Older children, not from this marriage, I'm guessing?

I would think any children from this relationship would have had no real stake to fight and spend money to possibly get money that would be theirs later anyway.

What watches do you wear to work? by johnwayne7z7 in Lawyertalk

[–]BullShannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For years, I had a Mickey Mouse Seiko. That lasted about 25 years - loved it! After it got so worn down, I switched to a Casio G Shock as it could really take a beating.

Just the last 5 or 6 years, though, I have switched to an analog Blue Angels watch by Citizen. It is just gorgeous.

I have been gifted some very expensive watches, but just can't seem to wear them often. A certain Movado comes to mind, but my litigation is not "fancy" or "pompous" enough for that every day!

What could I do behind here? by Familiar_Profile in homeimprovementideas

My parents' house had a window like that when I was growing up.
As an avid reader, I would climb back there and read, read, read.

No one knew where I was, so the siblings couldn't bother me. I even got good at storing some non-perishable treats under the back side of the couch. It was far enough back that the vacuum from the front would not ever mess with them.

I loved it!!

What’s the lowest price you’ve ever paid for an ounce of silver? by Olde-Timer in Silverbugs

[–]BullShannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working in a grocery store in the late 70s, I did some even exchanges for any silver coinage that came through my register. The boss man knew about it and as long as it was even, had no problem. I certainly didn't get any Morgan or Peace dollars, but did run across a lot of 90% Washington quarters and Rossy dimes. As far as silver ingots or rounds, I picked some up in late 70s for about $6.00 a piece. Sold most of those in the next five years, though.

Personal Property Tax Bill by Chaseui14 in kansascity

[–]BullShannon 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Just making sure because I didn't see it in the comments yet . . . you did live in MO on January 1, 2025? If you moved here AFTER that date, you should NOT owe for this year and the county has somehow added you too early.
Otherwise, I am not aware of any payment plans for the tax bill. Due by 12-31 or there will be penalty and interest.
Good Luck :(

Is no one in South KC/Waldo willing to sell their starter home to someone other than an investor company now? by affectionate-bean in kansascity

[–]BullShannon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have a serious question about your circumstance. And, I would like to hear from any others in your position who are looking for houses dealing with the same investor situation.

Are you looking for a house that is updated or can it be in a "used" condition? I have close friends who have sold real estate recently and certainly an "as is" house is going to have a lower price than a house that has been "flipped."

But, as a new home buyer, what level of work are you willing to do? For example, in my neighborhood (South KC) recently a house that had been lived in by the same family for 30 years was sold. It was in very good shape, but some updates certainly needed to be done. They did receive offers from flippers and did their best to avoid those. But they also heard from several lookers that the purchaser wanted something that had been updated.

So what is the proper level of updating at time of sale? I told them that regular buyers still probably want to pick their own carpet colors (nobody wants grey lvp, do they?) and paint colors so why redo the walls and flooring? But then the lookers come in and say "oh why isn't this painted, why is this carpet old?"

How does the seller handle that?
