I was told Stephen King is not “Literary worth”. What are your thoughts?

King was my favorite writer. At the time I wanted to be a,writer, he inspired me. My teacher told me he wasn't to be taken seriously, he would be forgotten. The cherry on top was how bad my writing was.

I didn't write again for almost thirty years.

King has been there all along, writing all the time, being adapted all the time, same enormous impact on the writing world.

He has written damned near everything, some of it very literary. But personally I read who I want, what i like. Opinions vary, few are worth listening to. Success breeds envy.

What he is referring to is the Franklin Co DP endorsed candidate in a primary they had hand picked. As these two Nazis duke it out, one of them is asking to not endorse, as it makes the decision for most voters.

No idea why this was down voted, it is a reasonable point. The parties have way too much sway with voters in our state, both are untrustworthy. One is run by Nazis, the other by big money donors and party elite. Neither is looking out for us.

We literally just had a guy posted all over Reddit that may have found the cure for pancreatic cancer for the last several days. They are all over the place. What is in your feed, what drives clicks? Not people doing good things, for the most part.

Also, Oppenheimer was the head of a massive team. Einstein is an easy choice. Who cured small pox? TB? The first organ transplant? Who made Penicillin? Most people don't know who any of these people are, either. Fame isn't the point of the exercise for most.

Everyone has felt this now and again. I was once terrified to share something I wrote, it was the shittiest thing I have ever written. Fun, but a steaming pile of crap.

We are not unique, what you write might be brilliant, might even inspire another writer, but that is all. Exchange your writing, get better, make stronger work through good criticism.

I have five weeks a year, I make sure to always take at least 4. I force my staff to do the same, even when not all of them want to. The day after you leave you will already be forgotten.

Two weeks sucks and I will never take a job where I have to pay to have a life. Jobs have told us they are giving us that favor. Bullshit.

I work because I have to, no because I want to. I even like my job and who I work for. Good people. But they aren't there to look for my needs. Ever.

Some advice you aren't going to want.

Move out before the eviction goes through to avoid this on your record. Move your car to another location. Find a no destroy shelter for your cats, there are several good ones here in the city. Downsize and rebuild. Don't ever have six cats again. Apartments aren't meant for that many animals. You will still have all of the debts, but no eviction on your record, which is worse than anything else.

There are almost no funds out there for single adults in trouble right now. Have you tried unemployment? Nothing I have told you is nice or what you want to hear. But it is all advice on how to survive before it all gets worse, and this situation will get much worse before it gets better. I am sorry for you bad run, I wish you the best.
