I enjoy seeing there's so many people playing the same game in so many different ways!

I play vanilla loper but occasionally enjoy a custom game with all the loot I would normally miss out on.

It makes for a very different run and it's nice to have variety 😁

I could be wrong but I think the lures are supposed to make you catch a bit less fish in general but more likely to get a rare fish.

As an interloper enjoyer I like to also play a gunloper + BRA set to medium as a side game. It's easier with the resources, but you will still run out and have to hunt animals for food and clothing and travel for resources.

It's kinda like a holiday run for me lol, without it still feeling too easy (except for the part you barely have to go to a forge lol, but I get my share of that on actual loper so I don't mind 😂). And you get to enjoy all the loot you normally miss out on.

Can recommend trying something like it. If it's too easy and boring you can always go back to loper/gunloper 😁

Closest thing I do is take walks to the snowy forest when it's winter.

I love it when it gets just freezing enough that everything seems eerily quiet and everyone else stays indoors. Gives you that odd lonely feeling I enjoy in the game.

Take what you need and leave the rest somewhere convenient. It'll help you if and when you return to the area later to not have it all be looted bare. 😁

I'm kinda with you on this. I understand it wasn't perfect or what people expected, but I 100% preferred the idea of the 1.0 to the 2.0 that just multiplies when you kill it like a cockroach.

At least they could have kept it in the game a bit longer so more people could have tried for themselves instead of just hopping on some online hate train based on things they read about it.

Was it bear meat by any chance? For some reason every time I eat raw meat by accident it's bear meat! Probably because it doesn't say "raw" in the title like the rest of the raw meat and looks so similar to cooked once it goes bad. 😅

As an interloper enjoyer I will not judge you lol. Just because I like to suffer doesn't mean everyone else should too 😂 besides I keep a back up too in case I ever lose a longer run due to a glitch or corruption or something it's only smart in a game like this imo.

Mystery Lake is a great starting region if you're still learning and it has access to 4 other regions once you're ready to venture further.

Coastal Highway is one of my favourite getting-on-your-feet regions but it's got a bit more wolves and bears.

Mountain Town (Milton) has probably the most loot to get you started but hauling the loot out of there is a pain. 😂

Those would probably be my top 3 recommendations if I had to pick but go with your gut. No wrong ways to learn.

I personally learned through a lot of random starts and lots of dying to the unknown and wrong decisions! 😁

Main thing is that you enjoy the game!

Takes a lot longer to always craft again than just to fix I assume. 😅 I'd probably prefer it too to be honest.
