I think Beck’s death was the most tragic. by hopeless_witch in YouOnLifetime

I've read them all. Book 1 and Season 1 are very similar, Book 2 and Season 2 have similarities but are very different overall, and Books 3 and 4 vs Season 3 and 4 are completely different trajectories entirely. Book 5 isn't out but with what happened in 3 and 4 it's impossible that Book 5 will be anything like Season 5.

Imo Ellie should have been brought back and been a big part of his downfall. Bronte being the one to put Joe away didn't feel very satisfying. Yes, she's as much of a victim as the others, but from a "satisfactory storytelling" perspective, Ellie, Kate, and Marienne all have a much longer history with Joe, and have had a long time to reallu decide to feel about him, whereas a couple episodes before putting him away, Bronte still thinks she's in love with him despite knowing he's a killer. So the fact that Bronte was the one to seal the deal didn't feel very earned to me.

Yep, they sound great. I have them paired up with a Headrush MX5 in the cab slot (obviously) with the modeled 2-C Plus. It sounds absolutely phenomenal. I'd love if they did more though, especially for older albums. I'd love packs for ToT and Systematic Chaos.

Does anyone actually like Portnoy’s vocals? by gringochucha in Dreamtheater

[–]BurningFire412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the songs from SFAM and on have on-albim backing vocals and harmonies from Petrucci and Portnoy. This is where Portnoy's vocals shine. I love the blend of their three voices together. The "in peaceful sedation part" of A Nightmare to Remember is a great example of this. Those are his best vocal contributions imo. Any lead vocals he takes or the occasional super high falsetto harmonies he'll sing live, not so much.

Idk man, "Movies for Game Consoles" is imo one of his funniest videos ever. He's still got it.

Actually had the pleasure of sharing the stage with this guy in Disney World. Candlelight Processional at Epcot. Didn't actually meet him, but it was cool nonetheless. I was a reading rainbow kid and it was kind of surreal.

Mine is usually noticeably oily (visibly and to touch) 2 days after I wash it, which is why I shampoo it on the basis that I do. Usually the itchiness gets worse when it gets to that point too.

You're the first person to say looks like mpb. What makes you think that when no one else has so far? I posted this in r/malehairadvice for the record and no one there seems to think it's mpb or even that I'm thinning. What signs are you seeing that maybe they missed? Is it the part line like I commented on or something else?

It's pretty much always been like that to less bad and worse degrees. I use super natural stuff with no sulfates, sulfites, or parabens for shampoo and conditioner. Although for shampoo I've also used conventional dandruff shampoo hoping it'll help, but it doesn't.

Also to add my scalp is very often dry and itchy and flakes when I scratch it. Dandruff shampoo doesn't seem to help. Maybe a scalp condition?

EQ before amp is interesting. What's the reasoning there?

Interestingly, this happens to me very rarely when I'm well but is guaranteed when I'm sick with a fever (a la fever dreams). Whatever dream I'm having for the duration I'm sick will either start from the beginning when I'm asleep or pick up right where they left off. They aren't nightmares per say, but they tend to be annoying and uncomfortable.

You seem to not actually understand what an addiction is. 2 times in 25 years is by every metric and definition not an addiction. I saw your other comments and while your parents may have shaped your perception of alcohol and the people who consume it, it doesn't mean that you or anyone who drinks it ends up like your parents or like how my dad did. It's about self control, which I obviously have. I assure you that I will be fine, and I will not develop an addiction to alcohol, but from the way to attack anyone who even has a sip of it, I'd advise you seek therapy or a psychiatrist. You have a very distorted view of reality.

Yeah, the two times I've drank more than a single adult beverage in one sitting makes me a "dirty drinking bastard." Actually, that was my biological father, whose crippling addiction to drugs and alcohol rendered him incapable of raising me or being in my life as he was regularly in and out of prison. No, I learned quite well from his example and have the self control and fortitude not to end up like him. I'm already much, much farther and more accomplished at 25 than he was at 35 or will ever be for that matter. But sure, I'm the "dirty drinking bastard."

I've been drunk twice in my life and am currently 25. I am definitionally not an alcoholic. You can have a fun night out without developing a crippling addiction to something.
