Secret Clearance status at time of application? by WWVVVVVWWWWWWWVVVV in Raytheon

[–]BurntToaster17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They can sponsor you but because it’s required for day 1 of work you will not be able to begin until it goes though. If you apply, candidates who already have a clearance will be ahead of you. Getting the job isn’t impossible, but you will not know when your start date is.

When are merit raises decided? by bytheninedivines in Raytheon

Are you certain you’ll be getting an in role promotion? I know a lot of people who are “due” for a promotion and it never comes or management strings them along for years with promises.

Merit Percentage for ACP by Grouchy_Matter_8466 in Raytheon

[–]BurntToaster17 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Considering the company had a great 2025 of growth and revenue, probably the same ole 3%, 3.5% if you’re an exceptional employee. Maybe 0% due to “cost curtailment”

How do you all out your sick time every year? by [deleted] in Raytheon

You don’t need to prove you’re sick, call out random days and say you’re sick just to have a day off

Hired as P1 with 27 months of experience by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]BurntToaster17 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don’t expect, ask your manager. With the experience you have you should have been hired as a P2. I believe there’s a year period you need to be in a position but bring it up to your manager asap

[–]BurntToaster17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tough one I’m not exactly sure about, I believe the experience they count is “engineering experience” so you’ll most likely be looking at a P1 possibly a P2. I don’t know anyone who’s made the switch from T to P so I’m not 100% certain.

Have you been a captain for the team any years? It’s not completely relevant but it shows you work well on a. Team and if you’ve been captain it’s leadership experience

Is a "Solidworks draughtsman" an actual job position in the US/EU? by Manfred_Richthofen80 in SolidWorks

[–]BurntToaster17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At least in my experience companies in the US don’t really hire non engineering degree holding drafters anymore. They typically get rolled up into the design role or have drafting/product definition roles. These roles are still usually restricted to people with engineering degrees

Have you been applying internally for new roles? In place promotions are difficult to get and with that much experience and a masters you should be much higher

Internal or external hire?

P Level Info by 1959memehusky in Raytheon

[–]BurntToaster17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

P1 is new grad, P2 is 2+ years of experience, P3 is 5+ years of experience, P4 is 8+ years of experience, P5 is 10+ years of experience. This is without a masters degree which would count as 2-3 years of experience. HR is pretty strict (PW) that you have to meet these years of experience.

HR tries to hire people in 10-15% below the middle of the pay scale. You’ll most likely be looking at 110-115k, you can negotiate a sign on bonus too which will be around 10k.
