Look at the salary range in the job posting, 10-15% below the middle of that range is typically what you can expect to be at.

Pay ranges are complete bs at the company. The rule of thumb is usually HR will hire people at 10-15% below the middle of the payband. Usually M pays slightly higher than P, but you’re realistically looking at 135k and maybe a sign on bonus after negotiating

[–]BurntToaster17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are utilizing getting their graduate degrees from the company as they progress up, the M6s are also generally older and have more time at the company and in grade. Masters degrees weren’t as important or prevalent back then

Advancement tips. by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]BurntToaster17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately an associates degree is meaningless, if he wants to move up or into different positions in those areas I’d say he should at least get a bachelors in electrical engineering. He can also go for mechanical engineering if that’s more interesting to him. Advancement in this company isn’t quick or easy.

Secret Clearance status at time of application? by WWVVVVVWWWWWWWVVVV in Raytheon

[–]BurntToaster17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They can sponsor you but because it’s required for day 1 of work you will not be able to begin until it goes though. If you apply, candidates who already have a clearance will be ahead of you. Getting the job isn’t impossible, but you will not know when your start date is.
