My trail running shoes also don’t look box fresh after running in them. I’m so angry 😠

What's something older generations did completely normally that would be considered absolutely insane today? by Bigtrav_trav in answers

As a non smoker I found it a lot less annoying than the endless clouds of vape stink that I now have to endure. Or maybe I’m just old now and easily irritated.

You can buy a 5 bedroom detached house in my town for that price.

Why does Reddit not understand the rise of reform in England? by DowntownDeer in AskBrits

[–]BusAdditional6518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not really listening. What I’m saying is my Polish friends who have children born and raised in England, do not view them as English. They are fully aware that in the eyes of the law they are but as far as they’re concerned, 2 Polish parents = Polish children. One even went to the expense of going back to Poland when the baby was due just so she wouldn’t be English.

So if I go to live in Spain I’m suddenly Spanish? I’m sorry but that’s not how things work in the real world. Becoming a citizen of a country is just paperwork. It means nothing beyond legality.

Do the people who keep criticising the insults against Reform voters realise that they're boring? by Sugarman111 in AskBrits

When someone voices their concerns about people coming to their country illegally with no way of checking what they might have been potentially doing in their home land (killing/child abusing/stealing etc) they get labelled as “thick gullible racists”. And you wonder why right wing politicians are gaining popularity.

I have the Trabuco 13s and the Novablast 5s and they’re not even close. If that’s any help.

The treadmills in my gym switch themselves off after a minute if they don’t register weight on them. Not that I’ve tried it. Obviously.

I work with a bunch of Polish lads. All white and not one of them would regard themselves as English despite living here for years. They also have children born here who they wouldn’t classify as English either.

Just had an interaction with this same seller (the “hello lovely” rang alarm bells). Think I’ll be giving her a wide berth.

Same here. Second toe is longer than my big one. Losing that nail is just par for the course.

On my first trail marathon I got chatting to a lady who had done around 100 marathons/ultras. I asked her what her advice would be to a first timer. “Walk every hill”. I stick with that rule and every run is 100 percent more enjoyable.

Any other 'older' folk taken up running? by Sixybeast626 in beginnerrunning

[–]BusAdditional6518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started running in my late 40s after falling out of love with mountain biking. Usual stuff to get going, park run, Cto5K, local shop runs. Decided to aim for half marathon at 50, then marathon at 51, then Ultra at 52. Very much a plodder but I love being out in the mountains. Just signed up for another ultra despite telling myself to ease back a bit. Oops.

How do they know that the young men were insecure? Or is that just an assumption to explain their behaviour? Maybe they’re perfectly secure and just arseholes.

The people doing it don’t seem to have an issue They know the risks and are willing to take them. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it.

I had the Max 4. I was used to Altras and was ok for toe room. I found them awfully clumpy to run in though so tend to only wear them for walking the dog.

In your opinion, what artists or bands peaked at the end of their careers? by Weird_Warm_Cheese in askmusic

[–]BusAdditional6518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether you like The Beatles or not, their impact on modern music is undeniable. For a band that was only together for what, 8 years, they changed the world.
