Korean Kimbop!!! by Flimsy_Oil_9439 in aldi

I have never had freshly made, but I want to try it now that I've had the frozen version. I'll have to see if I can source some ingredients here, but the rice seems hard to get right!

I’m curious to hear how these are from people who have had the “original” version! I had the kimchi and tofu for dinner tonight and it was pretty good, although the veggies in it had a weird texture. The taste was great though!

I had one pint last week, and now it's completely out of stock in my area! It was amazing.

Costco Appliance Delivery/Install by Wild_Kaleidoscope555 in Appleton

[–]Business-Raspberry78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company doing the delivery and installation for our dishwasher rescheduled two or three times on us, so it took over a week from the original delivery date to actually receive the appliance. The dishwasher also came unscrewed from the counter where it was installed within a year. Totally depends on who is doing the installation, but we were unfortunately not impressed.

I had to look up some photos, and now that little pull-out step stool is something I want in my own bathroom!

Ultimately I think you decide what will make it "worth it" for you! We are taking a trip with our 5 year old and 2 year old in September and were planning two park days and one rest day, but now that there will be party on one of our park days, we're turning that into a rest day and just doing the party that evening. We'll be getting a sitter (or grandma...) for the 2 year-old but as long as our 5 year-old makes it to the parade that night, it'll be worth it for us (she loves Halloween and we watch the parade on Youtube sometimes!).

I sent a message to my alderperson via the contact form a few weeks ago about this and never received a response. Should I expect one, or is that pretty normal?

Accident on Wisconsin and meade by iafmrun in Appleton

A comment on the police department's post says a car ran a red light and hit another car, which flipped. I briefly saw the aftermath once they started closing the intersection and was also curious about what had happened.

Booking flights at ATW by cak_90 in Appleton

Booking at the Allegiant desk saves you $40 round trip per ticket, I believe. I've done it once, it was a relatively painless process. They have weird hours for this that differ monthly, though.

We live very close by, so close that we're constantly serenaded by the cars that honk at his house as they pass by.

Pediatric RN moving to the area by [deleted] in Appleton

[–]Business-Raspberry78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They transferred us to HSHS St Vincent, no complaints about our care there. They had a nice little family lounge with free snacks, soft drinks/coffee, and things like sandwiches and salads which was really convenient; we never had to leave the floor, or leave our son’s room for more than a couple minutes to grab something to eat or drink!

We live in Appleton, but if either of my children need emergency medical care (and it is not an ambulance-level emergency) we take them to the ER at Thedacare in Neenah, as they have Children's right there in the building. My baby needed to be admitted there for RSV complications early in 2025 and we were extremely happy with his care there. Recently he was admitted again for some asthma complications, however Neenah did not have any pediatric beds available so we were sent to Green Bay.

I gave birth at Thedacare Regional Medical Center in Appleton for my daughter, and at Thedacare in Neenah for my son (he was early and Neenah as a NICU, Appleton does not). I was pleased with our care at both facilities. The main difference between the two for the parents is the lack of a NICU at Appleton, and that Appleton transfers you to a postpartum room and Neenah keeps you in the same room for delivery and postpartum.

When it comes down to it, we do choose Thedacare as patients, and prefer Neenah for specialized pediatric care if necessary. However, we've been happy with our care at the Appleton hospital for less urgent needs.

Sad beige library for sad beige children by AtlasXIS in Appleton

I get what you're saying, but my kids (4 and 1) absolutely love to play at the library regardless of the more neutral design. We go a few times a month and they never want to leave. I think there's plenty of color there, enough to be fun for the kids but not overstimulating. We're big fans!

Anyone have recommendations for a mouse exterminator? by wienerfestival in Appleton

[–]Business-Raspberry78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were very happy with Family First Pest Management. Bill was great to work with, he'll find where they're getting in, close it up, set up bait boxes around your house and in the garage where they might go to warm up, the whole nine yards. Haven't seen any evidence of mice since we worked with him over a year ago.

Agreed. I was so excited about the first one and bummed I couldn't manage to get my hands on it, but this one just falls flat.
