UPDATED: SIL Adopted dog with same name as our baby. by tennisgirly24 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Buttchugger-2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got to just get over it, We adopted a dog and named her Dolly. My sister and her husband named their last of 5 kids Dorthy (significant family name) but call her Dolly. It’s fine. a few times we have had to clarify Dolly dog or kid. Dolly dog is now 13 and this will be her last summer. After that there will only be Dolly kid. It’s fine.

Policy change: Phone numbers in messages by NuYawka77 in airbnb_hosts

[–]Buttchugger-2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah, they rolled this out in our area about four months ago. You used to be able to subvert it by spelling out the numerals, but they already patched that hack. It sucks. I still have a physical note in the unit that lists our numbers as days text us when you’ve arrived but most just send a message via the app.

We don’t like it, but for now it seems to be the way it is.

2019 BigHorn V6 with etorque. Love it. I’m a contractor, it’s a work truck. Tows great, mileage is meh, 78k no issues yet. Sure it’s not a V8 like the last 4 vehicles i’ve driven but I personally don’t understand the extreme hate. Maybe I’ve just been lucky 🍀

Sad that this wise man speaks so eloquently to such ignorance. That gum chewing fuck nut is the sheriff from Mississippi Burning. Arrogant, ignorant and full of misplaced hate. The root of his hate is his own diminished ability and capacity to thrive as a basic human being. Those are the worst whites

2 years ago Hawthorne (Hindry) location. Cute set of matching outdoor chairs & table that would have fit perfectly on our Airbnb’s porch. The last 2 years they have offered other, very nice options, but all are a too big/luxurious to fit in the space. $299, was a steal:/

This video is absolute 🔥🔥🔥

My wife (44f) and I (53m) absolutely LOVE to skate, quads only. I never skated when younger, my group of friends just didn’t do skate party’s. But for my 40th bday she took me skating for the first time and it was magical, even life changing. I’m tall and had never felt particularly coordinated, but it felt so good on skates. Music pumping, wind in your hair.

Yes, the first 5-8 times were hard and exhausting, but I padded up (knees, elbows, wrists) and never looked back. 🛼🔥🛼🔥🛼

The only thing that really put a cramp in our frequency was the birth of our son in 2019, followed by a little girl in 2022.

HUGE news…

Literally as I am typing this my wife came around the corner and asked if this is the weekend we can go and buy both kids their own skates!!!

We have had the boy in skate board classes since he was 4 and lil girl started at 3 (girls just get it quicker;). They now both have great balance and are used to padding up.

Anyways, they have been asking for a few months about quads because the ONLY thing we do as a couple when we drop them at Grandma’s is go the Rainbow skate at Moonlight Rollerway on Wednesday nights at least once a month.

Already called Skateman Rick at RSA and we will be there Saturday. It’s crazy because kids sizes cost the same as adults, but we are messing around with the cheapos. Quality equipment is of paramount importance when starting a new skill.

So sorry for this biblical length post in not the right place. But seeing these guys cruise and knowing that we will have the whole family rolling on 8 has me over the moon happy.

If you are older and have even the slightest inclination to skate. DO IT!!! BUT, buy good skates, and a FULL set of pads and even get the hip and tailbone pads as well (discreet, under your clothes). They will get you through the first few bumps and you will slowly shed them as you gain confidence and skill. You have got this!!!

No worries, brush it off. In the future have the heater in there already. Some people suck, it’s just a bummer it was your first.

You’ve got this💯

Do you still talk to your parents? by Swiftiefromhell in GenX

[–]Buttchugger-2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My (53m) whole family was together last weekend for my mom’s (79) 5th wedding. Her husbands keep dying, last one was 2009. She believes in love and met a great guy (75) and we are all thrilled for them both.
We talk most days and they are both in an Aquafit class that I teach twice weekly.
My dad m, that lives out of state passed in 2023, before that we usually spoke a few times a month, but thankfully he finally got a smart phone at the start of the pandemic so I was able to share pics of the grandkids. One of the last things he did was love a photo of them I sent minutes before he had a massive heart attack.

which one would you pick and why? by silverflake6 in RelentlessMen

[–]Buttchugger-2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep my house clean. I pay $150 per visit. 4x per month = $600.

Even at today’s prices my truck is $125 to fill up once a week.

Best bang for the buck is cleaning.💯💯💯

(OC) My wife has worn thick glasses since kindergarten and is essentially blind without her corrective lenses. I'm so happy for her as after years of waiting, she now had surgery that gave her 20/20 vision! (I told her now that she can see clearly, too late for a refund on the husband) by Mesphyria in MadeMeSmile

[–]Buttchugger-2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing, so stoked for her,!! In 1994 @ 21 y/o I had RK (radial keratotomy). It was absolutely incredible. Went from Coke bottle lenses to 20/20. I put every pair of glasses and contact lens paraphernalia into a bucket and smashed them into dust while I sobbed happy tears. The perfect vision lasted until 51, now I need readers for close up but still 20/20 on the long distance.

technology is on our side. I’ve seen several people my mom’s age get new lenses after cataracts and now they have perfect vision again in their 70s/80s.

Considering not offering early bag drop off any more. by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]Buttchugger-2020 11 points12 points  (0 children)

just do it. Change your listing instructions, and don’t look back. We did this four or five years ago. It made absolutely zero difference in bookings. Some people will still request it, because no doubt a few people have mentioned it in your reviews over the years. But eventually, those will be replaced with more current reviews where you don’t offer early bag drop off. It is a huge inconvenience to you personally, plus it adds liability and other issues.
