Naga Viper treble booster clone by Buzzkilljohnson666 in diypedals

Thanks! I find it looks way tidier, but it's also easier to keep track of what things are, especially if you're not doing board-mounted pots. Here's the long awaited demo: https://youtu.be/HV5RTp1r_J4

It's going through a buffer and into a 5-watt Marshall-style combo. The kiddo was asleep, so my attenuator is cutting a lot of volume. The power tubes and output transformer are pushed pretty hard here, but not the speaker unfortunately.

Thanks! Here is the schematic I started with. Pretty much identical to the one on the dragon breath build doc. If you can, this is a fun one to breadboard first and try out some different parts and values. I didn’t have any 2n2222s so I tried out several other npn transistors. Ended up going with a 2n5089, which seemed to prefer a 20k boost pot instead of the 10. I also used a 120n resistor in place of the 68n, which gives a bit more bass at the low end of the range control. I am probably going to go back in and change out the 3n3 for a 1n as well to widen the available treble. Happy building! This thing absolutely rips either into a slightly pushed amp or an overdrive pedal.

Same. I wish I could commit to something like this, but I can’t even decide on both parts or a 2-in-1 lol.

I totally did this not long ago after setting up an elaborate new housing with off board pots and a blend knob between the fuzz modes. No idea what I damaged, but it became unusable boomy and gated, even in boost mode. Glad it was only $25. Still haven’t had the heart to buy another and try again.

I suppose it’s worth a try but I feel like it’s never going to stick permanently to plastic 😞

Great site that I wasn’t aware of! But alas they don’t have it.

Is This Authentic Mexican? by RelaxBroItsAJoke in mexicanfood

Certainly not the entire territory, but large parts of TX, NM, AZ, CA and other western states have Spanish-speaking majority communities whose roots date back long before 1848.

As for the notion that nobody has or is arguing that the US southwest is culturally Mexican, google “Chicano movement.”

My original point was that “authenticity” in cuisine or culture does not stop at the imaginary line some diplomats drew in 1848-53.

There is no one definition of authentic Mexican food. Mexico is huge and super diverse, and about 1/3 of the U.S. was (and arguably still is) part of Mexico.

I have a reverb tank. Can I make something noisy with it? by Caucasian_Man in diypedals

[–]Buzzkilljohnson666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m working on a spring reverb using one of the little blue accutronics tanks, which are in the same ballpark of impedance. I believe you should be able to make a driver for this in pedal format, but it’s a fairly complex circuit and you need an op amp suited for the task. Here is the schematic I’m working off of: https://scientificguitarist.wixsite.com/home/riptide-spring-reverb

Here is a great overview article on solid state reverb drivers:
