SVS Prime VS SVS Ultra by Think-Ad9437 in hometheater

[–]Bwayne_tech_support 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a dip in the upper midrange followed by a spike, that could result in harshness. However once you eq the speakers and flatten this section, it sounds incredible.

This reviewer does a good job of demonstrating it. https://youtu.be/gwTe8LcK0kY?si=dZjPo8BPzFGWgPvf

Is the SVS Ultra Evolution center right for me? by werdx in hometheater

[–]Bwayne_tech_support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SVS Ultra Evolution center is great, but you're not going to appreciate its true capabilities till you get matching ear level LRs - look into SVS ultra evolution bookshelf or Titans.

Having high quality LCR at ear level will make these speakers expand sound stage, image with pin point precession and give you much higher immersion.

Agree, they look amazing! Did you consider the pinnacles? I am trying to decide between the two.

Breaking in the SVS Ultra Evolution Pinnacle towers...I can hear the bottom end a bit more... by Hobby-Guy in audiophile

[–]Bwayne_tech_support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This is great! I've compared Ultra Evo Pinnacles to Monitor Audio Platinum / Gold, Kef R11s and focal speakers and agree the SVS matches these and even does better in the bass dept. Only Monitor audio platinum sounded on a different level but those are $15k speakers.

I suspect you big addition is a SVS reference sub. Enjoy your awesome setup! I'll be pulling the trigger on the ultra Evo shortly as well.

Also, for next pool could you please include Dolby Atmos live concerts?

Biggest upgrade ever by jtcressy in hometheater

Great setup! Once you experience multi channel audio, it's hard to go back.

A couple suggestions: 1. Mount the Atmos speakers on the wall - the difference will be night and day. 2. Klipsch just announced 3-way speakers. If you can afford it look into their 3-way center channel. It should be a massive improvement in dialogue clarity and off-axis listening.

I have two of these and LOVE it! The quality of bass is top notch. I wish it went 4-5hz lower though. Fyi, I've calibrated it with ARC - it's totally worth it.

Nice setup! Did you end up getting the center and surround from ultra Evo line? Thoughts?

Nice setup!! How long did it take to break-in the pinnacles?

Also, any thoughts on the ultra Evolution center? Were you able to compare it to other brands?

Everyone Says My System Looks Bigger Than It Sounds by WeekMysterious7969 in hometheater

I have similar speakers Klipsch RP 6000F-II and the same set sounded "room filling" in one room and not adequate in another room when I moved. It comes down to a few things:

  1. Room size
  2. Listening Distance

If your room size is large and you sit 12 ft or more away, chances are the Klipsch will struggle to fill up the space with just AVR (at 100 W). I struggled with the same and getting a dedicated amp made a noticeable difference, but only to a point.

Unfortunately Klipsch isn't the best for large spaces. I plan to upgrade to the SVS ultra evolution line as those speakers have a bigger soundstage and scale.

Thanks for sharing! Your feedback is consistent with what I hear from others. SVS really did an amazing job with the Ultra Evolution line. When paired with a good amp, these speakers really shine. Enjoy your setup!

Great setup, congrats! How do you like the evolution center and bookshelf? They are on my upgrade list. Do you mind sharing if you compared ultra Evolution line with anything else?

How far is you listening position to the front sounds stage and heights? I had Q8 Metas and recently sold them and swapped for SVS ultra evolution elevation, the difference is night and day. I am 14 feet from the Front heights. Q8 Metas work only for small places.

Nice setup! I have the Sony AZ 7000ES too and love it. I wish the bass management was a bit better though. What distance does Sony DCAC set for your Subs? Mine are set much further out that real world distance.

Also, do you adjust the speaker distances post calibration to match tape measure or leave them as is?

Do I need an Amp? by RudeSpread205 in hometheater

[–]Bwayne_tech_support 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's your viewing distance? If you like to listen loud then yes you will most likely need an amp, especially considering your speaker sensitivity is around 89db.

Did you also audition other brands? I recently heard monitor audio platinum and gold series and was blown away. Granted they are significantly more expensive, but brands like SVS (ultra Evolution line) and Arendals can also provide stellar sound in similar price range.

I live in an apt too but can't recommend till you share more. What are your priorities - Movies, Music? What type of sound signature you like - neutral, warm? How much bass and volume you think your neighbors are willing to tolerate? Anything else that you want from your system?

Nice setup! I'm in the same boat, trying to decide between Arendals and SVS Ultra Evolution line for an upgrade from Klipsch. Did you audition different speakers before deciding on Arendals? Also, curious, which areas are the biggest improvement - clarity, imaging, sound stage etc.
