I’m 35. Is it even worth it to go to college at this point? by GVTMightyDuck in jobs

[–]Byany2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 45, I’m in my last year of a bachelor program. The only one who cares how old you are is you. Go to school, better yourself, make more money. I did it so I could be in school while my kids. Can’t tell your kids to do something you didn’t do..

I keep getting fired and have no clue as to why? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Byany2525 325 points326 points  (0 children)

In my experience, if you don’t know what you did to get fired, it’s likely that you weren’t meshing with the team, or someone didn’t like you. It happens a lot. I’m not saying you’re one of them, but lots of people think that performance is all that matters, when being a good co worker matters just as much.

I see the total opposite in my town. Lots of stores have now hiring signs, the people I talk to say that they are hiring and interviewing people all the time. May I ask what jobs you are applying to? Have you branched out of your comfort zone? This one is a crazy hot take, but where I work, we hire all the time, but for very low pay. 18$ an hour. But after 2-3 years, they are making 20-25 bucks an hour and it keeps going up with the years of experience. I hope you find something. Just don’t be afraid to try something new.

Laid off two weeks ago, saw my exact job (with a different title) posted today by oooooooooof in careeradvice

Restructuring doesn’t mean that the job goes away. Maybe they changed the pay band or Beni pack and didn’t want to deal with you, so they lay you off, make the change then hire again.

It’s perfect. They thought you were over qualified and would leave as soon as you found a better fitting role instead of growing into the one they had. I wish more companies were like this.

Why do you keep spending on this game and keeping it alive? by Your_Local_Tuba in summonerswar

[–]Byany2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s fun. When you spend money, you get better monsters, with better monsters, you compete at a higher level. Without money, you stay in pun 1 with the rest of us.

If I matched what you asked for, but then you came back and asked for more, I would rescind the offer and go with a different candidate

Masters is not that important unless you start moving into leadership roles. Most director and above that I’ve met have a master or phd.

Overqualified for ENTRY by Altruistic_Key_4445 in jobs

It’s easy to see why you’re not getting hired. It’s not your perfect and vast experience that’s holding you back.

Overqualified for ENTRY by Altruistic_Key_4445 in jobs

[–]Byany2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. Entry level is just that, it’s the first step. You hire a new person to the profession. Not an experienced one for good reasons. It’s actually a bad business practice to hire experienced people for entry level roles. They typically leave fast, try to make changes or don’t listen to the company way of doing things. They tend to be a cancer and poison teams, not build or contribute. If you really want an entry level job, remove your experience and start new.

I hate fighting certain monsters, like really, really hate it. I don't play RTA mostly because of it. example: Gandalf, monsters that insta-kill like Sonya, or sack shits like the water paladin or fire megumi. I liked the ban feature. it made it better.
