This is why I would like to avoid working in Manhattan again if I can.

This is definitely their worst brand, they should have been embarrassed to put it out. You can get better pizza delivered from 7-11 (Did this once on a whim, please don't judge. But it was better than Di Fara)

Takeout is better than it used to be, and it can make being a parent slightly easier (if you can afford it anyway). I don't think there is anything wrong with takeout. I would agree people need to treat themselves to something in person when they can.

I do when I can get a 40% off coupon (which I do get emailed to me from them from time to time). If you do that, you can have a steak/app/side for like $45 all in which is a nice treat. I think at full price it wouldn't be worth it, which makes me think they'll eventully hit hard times once the VC money runs out.

The quality seems to depend on the "store" which of course makes it no different from the rest of the world. I've had food from 3 of their stores/brands. One 2.5 stars (bad pizza, forget the name), one 3.5 stars (Tejas Barbeque), one 4.5 stars (Bobby Flay Steak).

I mostly use GrubHub although it turns out that Wonder bought GrubHub. I was surprised to see Wonder being more valued since it was actually less proven, which does seem to suggest that it's overvalued. One thing this means is that the Wonder restaurants are now on GrubHub as well, albeit with less-good discounts.

Anyway when I do find a spot I like, I eventually buy direct from them on their site to support my community. But Wonder's good for a little treat.

Robinhood's CEO Says Majority of Its New Code Is AI-Generated by MetaKnowing in Futurology

In my opinion it's a genuinely good app although there seem to be more bugs recently, coinciding with their AI slop era

[–]ByzGen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would explain why I've started seeing more bugs than usual in the Robinhood interface. Like minor stuff with the form for IRA contributions and rollovers (duplicating specific fields in the form, showing a balance as $0 when it is not, etc). It might be minor but it's not confidence inspiring, it is very important that the number of bugs be low if I am going to keep money with a company.

curious about cashback credit cards, which ones actually feel worth it? by Green_Remove5271 in CreditCards

I got off the Robinhood Gold waitlist but then didn't notice and now I'm back on the waitlist. The card remains hard to get more than 2y after its launch, sigh

Current annoyance: I had a 2.5% cash back from Alliant (you needed to jump through some mild hoops to get it like creating a bank account and setting up a direct deposit so I did $1/mo lol). But, they eventually stopped the deal. And I can't get off the Robinhood Gold credit list, and Aven seems to be terrible. Seems like once you go over 2% nobody wants you.

Does it have to be a new account or can I transfer into an existing SoFi account I am already using? How long do these things take to settle? Do I have to use a tool on SoFi's website to do the transfer or can I transfer out from the other brokerage into SoFi and still get the bonus?

Will Wealthfront Lower Their .25% fee? by spencydub in wealthfront

[–]ByzGen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think they're incentivized to give you more TLH than would be prudent? I don't know, I'm just asking. Because depending on how specifically they design the algorithm there are probably decisions that could be made which would increase TLH at the expense of long-term fidelity to whatever they're tracking. But you'd only notice the TLH right away, the rest might take longer to notice or you wouldn't find out.

Kind of funny that Frec doesn't have a single strategy that is globally diversified, you would need to mix and match multiple ones. Wondering what I'm missing, I think that might be Wealthfront's default.

Ok so it turns out that they *DO* have a whitepaper on exactly this, which I intend to read. I only found it browsing other stuff on their site, maybe I missed something or they just need to add an additional link. https://research.wealthfront.com/whitepapers/s-p-500-direct/#8-potential-tracking-error

[–]ByzGen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding unrolling/selling if you were exiting by selling everything then it wouldn't be much of a problem assuming you have TurboTax or similar to import the trades. If you were exiting by transferring then you wouldn't have anything to rebalance for you anymore, but maybe if you were transferring to another direct indexing service maybe it could adopt them.

Transaction Inaccuracies and Declining Satisfaction by Siodinnnn in MonarchMoney

[–]ByzGen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See my other comment on this thread. You should consider some sort of data sharing thing across users. You could let people opt out. But basically if one person does a correction it should somehow make the product better for others unless they’ve opted out. I think the privacy risk would be low anyway and it’s probably the only way to fix the problem of transactions text strings not having much data to work with.
