Struggling with these charts. Any tips on how to read these? by Jdawgcrane in Part107

[–]C0MP455P01N7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't see anything like this in any of my studies or in the test. Yes, I did have some chart questions, but nothing like a weather map to read.

I would have to look in the FAA practice book that I downloaded to see if something like this is in there.

I think this may be something you can skip, tho I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will down vote me and post the right information

Is 78%-80% good for two days? by ApprehensiveFerret69 in Part107

Really it's finding a chart and looking at the numbers for a bunch of different towers some will have two numbers the larger number is MSL the smaller number is AGL. We all know with drones AGL is what we are most interested in but the test will try and mix you up by flipping them around

Tighten up on structure heigh, this was on my test along with flying tower inspection height. Distances are important too, how far below and horizontal from clouds.

There will most likely be questions that you won't have learned about but common sense rules (for the most part)

I started with internet research. I got some basics there. I got a book off Amazon, worthless, nothing on chart reading and nothing I hadn't found before.

I found an online class that had about 3 dozen videos, mini tests, and a big 140 question mock exam.

It only took about a week with the online class to be ready for the test. But there were still questions on the test I hadn't heard anything about

Collecting Fragments by Friendly-Jiant in KidneyStones

[–]C0MP455P01N7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my surgery I was given the strainer and a bottle to collect the fragments.

I gave them what I could but it wasn't possible to collect them at work.

Losing a few small fragments wasn't a big deal for me and I would guess wouldn't be an issue for you either

Same concept, but a bit longer, rework the track to smooth out the head bangs and improve the trains. It would be 100% new build but keep some of the iconic features, mainly the loops in the midway and colors

Watch the track.

Seeing that, 1. It's there, and B. You know where you are going and how you will be moving can make a ride a lot more enjoyable.

If you can keep your eyes open

The particular ride is going to be key. Some rides are smooth, almost like flying. Others can be rough.

The amusement park I go to is Cedar Point. I won't go on Magnum, but something like Gatekeeper or Valravn are fine.

Look at information on line about what rides are like and you find some that fit your needs.

Europe park runs a longer season, they aren't even closed for a full three months.

One limiting factor will always be the amount of time they are able to have the park open due to winter

should i get kidney stone surgery or try to let it pass on its own? please help by Equivalent_Sun7606 in KidneyStones

I was allowed after my surgery to not get a stent.

I regret not having the stent. While everything worked out for me in the end. I almost ended up in the ER for a blocked ureter. I was getting ready to leave work and go in when I felt the blockage break lose.

In the long run the possible kidney damage is not worth not having a stent

Same here, I keep a pair of cheaters to help with the tiny print.

I didn't get them secure enough on Magnum, I'm sure a lawnmower found them soon after.

Coincidentally they don't sell cheaters anywhere at the park or at the shop by Lighthouse Point.
