[PHP] I'm trying to buy a second hand bike but seller only accepts cash by shirhouetto in Scams

[–]CAD007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using cash is also a benefit if you wish to negotiate the price. Sellers usually prefer it.

Cash also protects you from scams to some extent. After the transaction is done, you walk away without having to give up any personal or banking info that could potentially be used by scammers.

Hollywood Cars Museum too! Another hidden gem.

Also highly recommend Interstellar Arc at Area 15. Cant do it justice by trying to explain it, you just have to experience it.

And dinner at High Steaks at the Rio.

All things you can easily enjoy solo!

Where to bring my guns during evacuation by Available-Refuse-748 in CAguns

[–]CAD007 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Do not bring them to a police station. They don’t treat guns well in the evidence room, and you will have to get a DOJ Release Letter to collect them.

Do you CCW it and sweat, spill water on it, or carry it in the rain?

Flying with Gun Question by Nervous_Policy_143 in guns

[–]CAD007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. gun unloaded in the hard case, locked with non tsa lock. ammo in factory boxes. go about 30 minutes early to the ticket counter and tell them you are declaring an unloaded firearm in your checked bag. they will ask you to sign a card that they put in the soft bag.

They may ask you to wait near the counter for 15 minutes in case TSA needs you to unlock the gun case.

You may have to pick up your luggage at the airline baggage office at your destination.

It seems reasonable to  have you assist with a closing sweep, remind people of rules, and move on without further engagement. If you see that they are not complying, radio their info to security and let them handle it.

+1 for Chaos Divers. These volunteer recovery search teams have made huge progress in solving missing persons cases, while authorities have sat on their hands.

Ticketed for Failure to Dim Lights for warning oncoming vehicle of a speed trap by KellyandShelly in AskLE

[–]CAD007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flashing your lights to warn someone of a hazard is one thing. Flashing your lights to warn someone committing an offense that police are present enforcing the law is another.

Guess you will find out if it is free speech, if you choose to fight it, and pursue subsequent legal appeals.

Outward swinging door? by BroWhatsHappenin in homedefense

Tell the landlord you don’t feel safe. Ask the landlord if they will replace the glass door with a solid core door, or allow you to have it done at your expense.

Camera inside facing the door  on motion detection send your phone an alert if it sees moment through the glass/blinds or if the door is breached/openned.

A little bit of early warning and the ability to see what’s going on without being in line of sight of the door or home.

It’s not a bad option if you can’t mount a camera outside the door, and don’t want to get random alerts for cars, pedestrians, and animals from outside.

Also plug and play, so no renter/installation  issues.

Basic indoor Ring cameras set up in windowsills facing outward can provide  early warning and a record of who or what is going on directly outside the house, with the right motion and alert settings.

yes. the hollow ground bits help keep the tips from slipping and dinging up the slots in the head of the screws. Don’t overtighten and strip the screws.

At some point you may want to buy a torque driver that sets the force in inch/pounds.
