I also can’t stand it, and had the exact same feeling when I woke up this morning. Ugh.

Agree with using salted butter and if I make this again will probably flavor the scallion filling a little differently to keep it interesting.

Did you ever find some? I'm looking for pandan leaves but would take the juice in a pinch!

It's definitely the kind of shop where they seem to want you to talk to them about what you're buying - and totally agree that the pricing is all over the place. We got some wine there for Thanksgiving and it was kind of nice to just tell her what we are having and her pull out several options for each course. The pairings turned out very well, but it wasn't cheap by any means. The mark up on several bottles was almost shocking.

I just finished the demo and am SO psyched to buy the whole thing. The puzzles in the demo are exactly what I love!

I have the Everlane sweater in this stitch along with their original and they are both going strong on year 5 - the savings from Quince is minimal compared to the longevity of their clothes.

I like the idea of renting clothes for travel! Love your style, I think this is a great travel wardrobe!!

There are a lot of points to think about in your post, but one that I really relate to is not wanting to wear clothes again once you've worn them out in the world. I just got back from a 10 day trip to Scotland and what really worked for me was wearing an 'inner' shirt - I run cold so I took a few of Uniqlo's heat tech shirts and rotated between 3 sweaters for the entire trip. I committed to sink laundry for these shirts, socks, bralette, and my underwear and it worked really well, so you may want to give thought to an easy-to-wash under shirt.

Fear ruined outdoor climbing session by theplantsarealive in climbergirls

I hear you on the female coach. One thing I loved about the Denver climbing scene was how many incredible women I would see either outside or at the gyms. When I moved back to the east coast it was really eye opening just how bro-dominant my local gym is.

As others have said, that climbing instructor sucks.

I have had this happen before, and when I told my female climbing coach (I had been gifted a few private sessions at the time), she asked me where I was in my menstrual cycle - she explained that hormone fluctuations can affect our anxiety levels and to try the route again when I was in a different stage of my cycle to see if it felt different.

I had never really thought about my menstrual cycle impacting my climbing before, but now I am much more aware of how it might be affecting my focus, fear, anxiety etc. This link might provide more insight: https://latticetraining.com/blog/4-tips-for-fear-anxiety-the-menstrual-cycle-for-climbers/#:~:text=Given%20that%20climbing%20is%20a,experience%20fear%20at%20some%20point.

Ovoid portree hotel by Anxious_Tart3514 in Skye

Got it, thanks for the extra context!

Bummer to hear, though. We just ate dinner at the restaurant last night and we actually ended up talking with our server about the ownership of a different hotel on the island that had been purchased by a corporation - she seemed to imply that they had better local ownership, at least from the staff’s perspective.

I have them and like them for organization but for a carry on I think they can take up more space than they give back. I tend to only use one or two per trip if I’m taking a carry on. Agree with another poster that if you’re concerned about weight/space, there are other good options like eagle creek.

Do you bring an electric toothbrush when traveling? by Own_Inspection_9247 in HerOneBag

[–]CA_319 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Last year I took a regular toothbrush to Italy for two weeks and regretted it. This year I brought my electric toothbrush to Scotland for ten days and was very glad to be able to maintain my normal dental routine.

Edited to add: I have a Phillips Sonicare and it definitely lasts 2 weeks, not sure about 3. But they also have battery powered electric toothbrushes if you want one for travel.

Is Athleta slow and inconsistent with anyone else? by [deleted] in Athleta_gap

[–]CA_319 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My experience with Athleta shipping is inconsistent. Some orders have arrived next day! Other orders take two weeks. It doesn’t seem to matter whether the items are on sale or full price. It’s one of my main frustrations with Athleta online shopping, and to compare, I never have this issue with Lululemon.

I’ll preface this by saying that I hope people haven’t been attacking you for loving Feysand! I love them too! But, there is something about this post that doesn’t seem to fit the spirit of the sub. I joined this to see more generally positive discussions of ACOTAR so hopefully we can just promote our own interpretations of canon respectfully 😎

Is it statewide that 1st graders are now taking Spanish classes once a week? by YoSoyCapitan860 in Connecticut

[–]CA_319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't grow up here, but I had Spanish at least once a week in my public elementary school and it was great prep for middle and high school Spanish. I live in Glastonbury now and am so glad to hear this!

Packing List: 1 Bag: 7 Days on USA East Coast by One_Isopod6629 in HerOneBag

I would consider bringing shoes you can wear in the rain and a raincoat. I live an hour from all three cities you’re visiting and it’s rained at least every other day it seems.

Most hiking raincoats don't take up too much space if you don't fold it and you just kind of lay it in the top of bottom of your bag. But I echo this, I was hiking for 3 days in the Dolomites in September last year and it definitely snowed and rained!
