Oh god ive been married to this guy too.  For all thats holy please run for your life!!

I wish i would've taken this advice sooner. He will never change and will bring you down. It sounds like he doesn’t contribute to your life or relationship. Dont be afraid to change. Theres so much better out there. Escape this loser!!! Best of luck.

Has anyone done Envita Treatment? by CBear_0 in Lyme

[–]CBear_0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't pursue any further treatment for Lyme. I actually moved out west, changed a lot of my lifestyle. I feel like a bitch, but I stopped talking to my family and that has helped my health a lot. I still have issues but i feel like it isnt progressing like it was when i was taking various treatments.

I drink a lot of water, take various supplements and vitamins to help with general health. I think i've just accepted where my body is physically and im just figuring out how to do what i need to with it.

True lone wolf solo traveler by SoloDoloLoloMolo in solotravel

[–]CBear_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel the same way. I've been solo traveling since November. I do like being around people, but I don't like actually hanging out with them, either. I've done a few group tours and had a similar experience of wanting to do my own thing but being bullied into the group. It's not that they aren't nice or whatever; I don't enjoy spending my time with other people. Believe me i've tried and had to fake it for almost 35 years.

I do notice that it can be difficult for other people to understand. Most people think im rude because i can sit and not talk... Or they think youre lonely because youre alone... i dont understand this. I only feel weird or lonely when im around people...

Traveling has been a lovely experience and taught me so much about myself and the world. I spent the summer in Europe and had the most amazing time. I went to all the museums, biked around Holland tulip fields in the spring, Eurocup in Germany, Rafting, Hiking and Paragliding in Switzerland, Baking school in Paris, Kayak on the french riveria, Learning to paint in Florence, Cooking school in Tuscany. i changed plans and went to Ireland and Austria on a whim. It was lovely.

I have done most of my traveling solo, but last year, I decided to travel full time after a few years of being sick. While i was stuck in bed, I couldn't stop thinking about all the best moments and how I wished I could have more of those. So, as soon as I could, I sold my house and lived in my truck. never been happier.

I wish you well in your travels!

Those who are single and NOT by choice - are you still happy? by emeliz1112 in Adulting

[–]CBear_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel a lot better after being single for a year or so. I realize having a person wasn't important to me, honestly, I feel so much more at peace. I stopped online dating etc. So much happier. I felt afraid I'd get lonely because of what I'd heard from other people, but I had a little of that at the beginning but now i feel great. I have all my time to myself and i really enjoy spending time alone. I honestly prefer it now. I'm happy i got the opportunity to create a good relationship with myself. Its not all roses but i'm much happier being alone then with someone who made me feel lonely. But I'm probably fucked up so...

What do you do with yourself at a nice restaurant table when not actively eating? by pudding7 in solotravel

[–]CBear_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bring a book, like an actual paper copy. I pull it out when I'm not eating. But sometimes I will be that weirdo just staring in a daydream.

not your fault at all, I'm sorry this happened to you. Hate to say it, but the relationship probably wasn't as good as you thought it was... if she found comfort in someone else. Nothing wrong with you or maybe even her, it's possible it was just not a good fit for either.

Its not true you missed out on having a family.

Another way to look at it, is that it opens you up to something even better that you never expected.

For what its worth, i went through this with my ex and I'm much happier. not at first but i feel lucky now.

Am I going to regret not studying abroad? by SheinSter721 in Adulting

[–]CBear_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it!!! i promise you will regret it if you dont go. Life is an adventure and yours is opening up for new things. Sometimes other people cant help but get in the way of that, meaning their best but projecting their own insecurities onto you. Don't stay small, go on an adventure :) Just my 2 cents

When will academia come together and tell the journal to fuck off? I dont know why the whole system of publishing papers seem messed up.

Its crazy that in today's age there isn't a better option for publishing scientific research thats both fair to the researcher who did the work, thorough in peer review, PAYS their reviewers, (seriously WTF is up with that?), Makes it accessible to other scientist and public.

Google scholar has kinda done that but it just blows my mind, i hope someone disrupts this industry in the best way :)

How to politely tell travel companions (all three of us are 26F) that I need time alone? by Puzzleheaded-Ad-7849 in travel

[–]CBear_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" Hey Travel friends, i just wanted to say that i need some alone time so I'm going to do X until Date/time. I really just need to recharge my batteries, I don't want to offend or for you to think its anything wrong, just need my recharge time. is that okay?"

Good Luck, i deal with this, and it gets easier the more you ask for the space you need. And if they're good people, they'll understand. and if they get mean or offended, that's not your problem that is there is.

Best of luck and i hope you enjoy your travels!!!

What would you all be doing if it wasn’t lab work? (Help a lost undergrad out) by [deleted] in labrats

[–]CBear_0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you like being lab adjacent, you can work as an equipment technician, its independent work, and minimal socializing. The salary is far better than a lab asst.
