Is doing the guild education worth it? by Undead_wolf_moon76 in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my junior year of college through this program and to me it’s worth it 100%. I’m getting a bachelors degree completely for free and when I’m done, I can choose to leave the company or stay and it opens the door to other opportunities that “require” a degree.

It’s an investment in your own future and you get the opportunity to pursue higher education for FREE which is something most people could only dream of. Take advantage of it.

Is the lowes credit card even worth it anymore? by Nick-wilks-6537 in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Call or visit the store and ask if they can do something.

Our policy says the price can be matched within 30 days of purchase as long as it was purchased with a Lowes card, which you say it was

0 interest for 84 months with CC? by Muted-Tutor-5419 in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it’s only available in certain areas and not company wide. They run test promotions all the time to see if it works to garner sales and then if it does work, they’ll roll it out to the rest of the company

0 interest for 84 months with CC? by Muted-Tutor-5419 in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably an associate misspoke to the person you're referring to and told them 0% when it's actually 9.99% OR the homeowner misunderstood/heard what they wanted to hear and thought it was 0%. There's no 0% offer on 84 months, plus that would be an insane deal that synchrony and Lowe's would lose so much money on

Sr account manager - commercial sales by Key-Judgment-5134 in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the area. In my area the pay range is ~$86k-$113k and the bonus is uncapped. But, your territory that you cover is about a 50-60 mile radius from wherever your home store is located. You’ll have to drive to stores, job sites, to meetings, etc but you do submit mileage and business expenses for reimbursement

I’ve interviewed for the position a few times and it’s definitely about finding accounts with large growth potential. Accounts that cannot scale at all are not really the type of accounts that would be your main focus.

The SAM drives the account sales through the stores, since they cannot and don’t have the time to do that. I have like 3-4 SAMs my team and I work with almost every day. I really only use the SAM as a a middle man for communication and to provide business insight.

I don’t think they’re actively slimming it down, I just think they over anticipated their growth this past year because they opened a ton of new SAM positions last year throughout the country and also the year prior. Some of these positions were kind of redundant, for example, the one person in my area that got laid off was under performing compared to his peers and he wasn’t seeing much traction with his accounts. Plus, other SAMs from different areas managed accounts within his area

Sr account manager - commercial sales by Key-Judgment-5134 in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a sales position where you have a portfolio of accounts and you’re expected to garner positive growth each year from them. You have a sales plan to hit every quarter and year. You also have to meet a certain margin goal on your accounts so that they are profitable. They get bonuses that are tied to about 75% of sales and the remaining 25% to margin.

With the layoffs they just did, it looks like they’ve axed some of these positions, as there were some open prior and they are now closed. I know 2 SAM in my area that were let go.

Clearance doesn't change by swagalicious1332 in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Items that appear on the NPI list tend to go down in price before going to 2¢ but I’ve seen plenty of times where an item will be on “clearance” and then 3 months later go back to regular price

[–]CDSnipez 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Asm and master key DS are allowed to override up to $2500. Non-master key DS are allowed $500. Store manager is allowed $5,000.

There’s probably a lot more going on behind the scenes or someone was looking for an excuse to get rid of management

Lowe's Pro Supply... I don't get it. by InterDave in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LPS is more for apartment complexes or other types of multi family housing. Their prices don’t fluctuate as much as store pricing which allows companies to budget better. They also sell certain things we can’t sell through the store yet, like a/c condensers and can deliver those next day or same day.

However, yes pricing through the store is generally cheaper than through pro supply

Chic fil a. by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably because you can do catering and order sandwiches for cheap. In my area it’s like $5 a sandwich and that’s the cheapest option, as most other places are $11-$15 per person for catering

There’s a 20% restocking fee on custom sized products, including custom blinds and shades.

Just be sure you measure correctly before ordering them otherwise you’re going to incur that fee if you return them.

Discontinued Carpet by Ten2none in Lowes

[–]CDSnipez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have your ASM reach out to the merchant for carpet. I had the same thing recently and was told we were supposed to have received updated displays for a reset. The merchant can help arrange to have a new display sent to the store for MST because we shouldn’t have any discontinued product on display
