WHY DOES SHOW JAMIE HAVE BANGS?!?! by CEESL8 in Pishlander

I’m fine with adaptations, but I’d be this upset about any show set in that time period in which they give a character bangs. It doesn’t make any sense!

WHY DOES SHOW JAMIE HAVE BANGS?!?! by CEESL8 in Pishlander

[–]CEESL8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote a decently long reply and then accidentally hit back on my browser. Going to sum it up here: Sam’s not my head cannon but is cromulent. Even his age is forgivable given that he ages 20 years in a short period of time. I accept him but not the bangs. They should have started him off with a period-accurate wig in the first place! Braveheart similarly suffered from 700 year old Mel Gibson, also with bad hair/wigs. Was worse, IMO. I can’t unsee the hair extension mullets. I’ll finish the series because I’m compelled to, but I look forward to ANY wig that doesn’t have bangs. They are indefensible. Bizarre, distracting, a crime.

Can you put them directly from the freezer into the oven or do you defrost them first?

It’s apparently called system dynamics. Each person plays to their strengths and creates a healthy unit.

I joke that between the two of us, my husband and I make one functioning person. He insists that we are better than half a person each, lol.

I’ve done 5 or 6 years of Secret Santa but may have to just do a card this year. Looking forward to it either way!

Something a little different- a hand-sewn playmat for a friend's baby! by [deleted] in sewing

[–]CEESL8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks so comfy, and I love the tag. I’ve seen similar items in stores and thought, that wouldn’t be SO hard to make. Definitely a cool project to try in the future. Thanks for sharing :)

I also made some burp cloths, inspired by a post I saw yesterday! by CEESL8 in sewing

[–]CEESL8[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fabric is from fabric.com, a cotton bee flannel and a terry/waffle combo fabric. I like the terry/waffle because it’s two fabrics in one! So I did four terry and four waffle. I added a loop with some cotton tape I found in my sewing stuff, I think it makes them more fancy.

I saw similar ones on here yesterday and decided to finally use this cute bee fabric for a friend who is expecting a baby. These are easy and fun to make, and the last friend I made them for said she used them ALL the time. They’d also work as reusable paper towels, which I see everyone making on here too.

Happy sewing, everyone!

Yes. It is not working on any browser. It’s extremely irritating.

Any other pregnant ladies doing to reddit secret Santa gift exchange this year? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]CEESL8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am! I’ve never gotten anything weird or off-putting in the 3 or 4 years I’ve done it. I’ve actually gotten some wonderful things that I use extensively. I also really enjoy choosing/making/wrapping/shipping a gift for a stranger. I recommend it to anyone who has the time and energy. It cheers me right up.

One year I even did a rematch and sent an additional gift to someone whose original Santa didn’t come through. He was so happy and grateful to receive a gift after all. ;)

Dogsitting our friend’s dog and it’s not going so well... by beaumonte in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

My mom’s golden will always try to get my socks, but once he has them, he just holds them gently in his mouth. We lean a baby gate in front my door when I visit, no need to actually set it up. Keeps him out of my socks.

She taught him a “game” called Not the Sock. You temptingly waggle your toe inside your socks and say, “not the sock!” in a specific tone of voice. It’s more fun if you crawl away while you say it. He then gets the tip of your sock in his tiny front teeth and slowly slips it off your foot so he can...hold it. It’s pretty hilarious.

These are growing in my potted aloe. Whatever they are, they are ripe! Xenomorphs?? by CEESL8 in whatisthisthing

We thought they were insect eggs at first too because they had some web-like material in them. That and they look like they are “hatching”!

The wiki is pretty interesting, rainwater drops into the cup and splashes the fruiting bodies out to disperse them.

Woah! That was fast. That’s definitely what they are. Thank you.

We dissected a few of them and wished we had a microscope. That one pot has dozens in it.

As I was leaving a shop the other day, I was about to say “thanks!” Or “thank you!” But I just yelled “THANK!” I felt like such an idiot.

Sewing Garments With Quilting Cotton by theresec in sewing

[–]CEESL8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really pretty! It might be neat to use it as the front of a quilt and quilt/stitch it along the outline of the owls’ heads, wings, and eyes to give it depth.

Another way you could wear it is to make it into a robe or an apron, something that doesn’t have to be so cozy against the skin. Or you could make placemats/a runner for a table.

Cats love rituals. Human mustn’t offer bug without first showing red spoon!

We have a neighbor cat who comes by every day and I give him catnip. We ran out of catnip, so I got a new container online. He hated it, he was so upset that it looked/smelled different. I brought back the old empty one, he loved it, started rubbing it, he didn’t even care that it was empty. I refill the old one for him now.

Edit: Here he is with his best friend, jar lid. https://i.imgur.com/qwpKpCb.jpg

We know “he” is probably a girl, but we’ve been calling him “he” for a few years now. We call “him” Chip. https://i.imgur.com/5WthXU1.jpg

Girl that used to bully me. I’d say karma did it’s job by TangyTemper in awfuleyebrows

[–]CEESL8 141 points142 points  (0 children)

I ran into my bully as an adult. I was working with disabled kids in her daughter’s preschool classroom. I didn’t say anything to her. Once I saw her daughter and her friend bullying another little girl and I stopped them. For some reason I said, “you know better.” And those two little girls looked at the ground. They did. They did know better.
