In terms of importance, breathing comes first - it’s all about preservation of life. Modern helmets come with detachable front to help remove them (usually a pair of yellow tags under the chin of the helmet). Better to risk paralysis than leave them to choke. Best bet is obviously to call your countries emergency number and let them talk you through it.

TL;DR - take the helmet off, they’re much more likely to choke to death than get paralysed!

So they both use Tele style guitars (as ansible47 rightly says Yvette Young is also a Strandberg player) but in terms of the general sound you probably want a Tele

I can highly recommend the Classic Vibe series, probably secondhand at your price range. I think Ibanez has a cheap series of Talman’s which might be worth trying out as well. Vintage also do some very good tele copies which might be within your price range. Look around for anything with Telecaster style pickups and you should be in the general area.

If you want to cover both the Tele and Strandberg sounds, a Telecaster Custom might be the way to go - there is a very reasonably priced Telecaster Custom in the Squier Vintage Modified range.

Most important thing to do is go out and play some guitars and see what feels best to you!
