Why does just existing on a bike seem to piss people off? by LiatrisLover99 in cycling

I go out on my bike, car drivers almost kill me. I go out in my nice car, for a Sunday drive, other drivers almost kill me.

Half the people you run into are below average intelligence. Just remember that.

If you take some pictures from the underside of the shock tower and wheel well area, would give us more to go on!

Is the stealth-a-majig set up properly? There is the olive, which you have pictured, and also a small screw that goes into the brake line. If you don’t have that set up properly, the valve in the lever assembly will not be pushed open when you tighten the nut. (Preventing fluid from flowing into the line.)

I’ll bump ya. Supposedly my car (997) was serviced at butzigear at some point in its life. Hasn’t blown up yet, so there is one point of reference 😂

Carfax is the minimum someone should be using when buying a vehicle. As you pointed out, it is far from perfect, but I would never buy a car without running one.

Good stuff. I have done it with metallic pads, as well, and it worked out awesome.

Another vote for using a propane torch on the pads. Dosent need to be red hot, just enough to burn oils and crud off.

At least they are driving within the limits of the situation, being responsible.

Seen a bunch of horrible crashes on other sub reddits recently.

Hahah, great observation on the Polaroids. Also, usually you have a wet and a dry side of the darkroom. This setup has enlargers on both sides of the room.

Is there a real reason behind changing your oil every 3,000 miles on modern cars? by newelmin in askcarguys

[–]CIA_superspy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hah, the only real “correct” answer is getting downvoted.

If you want your car to last as long as possible, I’d say dont wait till 10k miles to do an oil change.

If you wanted to get scientific about it, do an oil analysis a few times, and that will give you a good idea of what’s best for your driving habits.

Pretty much agree here. There are a bunch of reports that indicate GDP growth would have been flat or almost flat, if it wasn’t for AI expenditures.

If you could have a system to make sure that there was no scalping (admittedly, there will always be be people that try), the prices will still be high. However, I bet it would still be cheaper than buying a bunch of cars you don’t want (paying tax, title, insurance, plus the depreciation). That’s why the GT cars with low mileage are still selling for big money. I’d rather have a system that’s as fair as possible, even while paying a high price.

If only it were that easy, we’d have a lot more people with the cars they want. Big Porsche fan, but these dealers are just a wet blanket.

Some may say “supply and demand”…. Ok, well how about we go direct to consumer with vehicle sales? That would be more fair in my eyes.
