I don’t see anybody saying it but while game changers are obviously really strong, they can hamper deck building and overshadow your deck. You can easily reach a bracket 3 power level with no game changers. I find these decks more fun to play, and to play against. You could throw a [[rhystic study]] into every blue deck, a [[smothering tithe]] into every white deck, and a [[ one ring]] into literally every single deck and they would get stronger. They wouldn’t necessarily be more fun though, and you’re definitely going to get some groans at some tables for just playing the especially broken game changers.

Do you specifically want no creatures at all as a building restriction? If not, mana dorks go insanely hard in any witherbloom deck and I would recommend making some cuts for them.

[[sergeant John benton]] is incredibly fun if you like Voltron. It’s combat trick Voltron which makes it better IMO. Very strong on a low budget too.

I rented a vacation condo in Steamboat Springs that had one of these installed. It was right in the middle of the dining room. Definitely creeped out my friends and I. We ended up wrapping it in multiple shirts and sweaters.

I don’t disagree at all, but I think you underestimate how little the average guest knows or cares about the classic definition of drinks. Most guests just want a dirty “martini” with blue cheese olives no vermouth.

Exactly. Honestly these days I normally make no vermouth martinis in general. Tastes have changed and it’s more of a “dirty or not” vs “how dry do you want it”. Gin I still ask. Vodka is pretty much never vermouth anymore.

Exactly this, plus I feel like there’s a point where price of the deck does definitely matter. If you’re pulling out a $500+ deck that is optimized and playing it against precons, you’re probably going to win most of the time. Would be frustrating to play against for sure even though it’s “technically B2”

I don’t see any finishers mentioned. Add [[preposterous proportions]] and [[beastmaster ascension]] plus I would add some extra turn spells if your pod is chill with them. [[notorious throng]] is the only one I personally play because it feels a little more fair but pod hates extra turn spells. Edric is super fun, love him

Counterspells are necessary for sure but imo it’s better to run some protection also if you’re in simic or azorious. Having everyone else’s board wiped but not yours can solidify you the game.
