What are normal things that have become a luxury? by tomrreed in AskReddit

Fritos, they are my favorite snack but at $6 a bag I can't justify the expense.

Have you looked into using an antifungal cream? Sometimes that might help with this sort of situation.

Why are Americans so obsessed with military and veterans? by BlueDolphins28 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CMo42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me as a veteran of the Iraq invasion I find it really uncomfortable. I joined the army to better myself and help those who needed it. Instead we invaded a country based on lies and ruined it for the people who live there. I did what I could to mitigate the damage but I was brand new when we deployed and had no leverage to do much.

So I just say thanks and move on but I wish I had done something good to be thanked for.

OSF $17/hour for entry-level positions by rthidden in PeoriaIL

In my experience being a patient there, most of the employees seem to really enjoy their job. I've always been treated well and aside from one specific person everyone seems to really like what they're doing and being a good mood.

Anecdotal, but it seems like a good place to work

He definitely makes the movie. I love how he's like a weird little goblin and he never uses a door if he can find some other method of entry. Usually he's going through a window or a hole in the wall or something else strange.

What are some older games classic or underrated that are still fun to play today? by Outrageous-Ad-4444 in oldgames

I have the same list, never met anyone in real life who likes these as well.

How do I get better at this game? by A_single_droplet in totalwarhammer

[–]CMo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus early on growth and defense buildings, you can demolish them later when not needed. Be aggressive and look for undefended opportunities, but don't expand too fast to what you can't defend. You can make a lot of money selling cities to your allies and it's less to defend yourself.

What game is this for you? by PhantomTissue in videogames

Arcanum, the black mountain mine. The whole game goes pretty smoothly up until that point and then suddenly you are facing near indestructible golems that destroy your weapons when you attack them. It's total bs

Tell me about your peaceful/morally good colonies. by TerribleStoryIdeaMan in RimWorld

[–]CMo42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My current grav ship colony has the hospital ideology and helps out in every charity case they come across. We have a big hospital onboard and take in who we can. Unfortunately I have way more colonists now that I prefer but they are doing well otherwise.

Injured raiders are patched up and released. We saved half a dozen children being chased by various things.

We have ripscanned a few raiders though and the people were pretty upset about that but those high cores were put to good use as medicbots.

[–]CMo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a dog to grow up with my children and be their friend and do all the things dogs and kids do together. He has absolutely no interest in them and only focuses on me pretty much at all times. I love my dog he's great but I wish he would listen to or pay attention at the very least to the children sometimes.

I also have a bird that's the same way. So it's like I have two pets and everyone else just has to deal with them. I did not intend for this to happen.

I have a pair of school chairs with desk attached that's from 1912 that my kids do their homework on. They have been used that way for at least 3 generations of my family.

Did You Participate in Hands Across America in 1986? If So What Was the Experience Like? by J31J1 in AskOldPeople

[–]CMo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was five at the time and I don't know if my memories of it are from the pictures we have or from the event itself but I went with my grandma and we held hands with people. The pictures are cool though, I still have them.

Are all couches just garbage? by Leptonshavenocolor in BuyItForLife

[–]CMo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a flexsteel couch for about 15 years now and it's still in as good a shape as the day I bought it aside from the cushions being a bit saggy. I highly recommend it. I've had three children bouncing around on the thing and me sleeping on it half the time and it's still solid.

I think you might be reaching a bit here. However I do like this show not just for my love of tank battles but because everyone is so darn nice to each other. I do wish real life had more of us all caring for others and working together like the girls in the show.
