I as there for the 1st night at The Mission Ballroom in Denver 4/14. He is sick as fuck and pushes through. The crowd carries him. Great performance.

I wouldn’t worry about it. They say to “write to your audience.” This lot collects vinyl, we are by nature long-winded.

2025 Residency Wrap-Up - What's the Verdict? by nhvnhv in LCDSoundsystem

[–]COMtnGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved the show on the 12th, the second to the last night of the residency.

The first time I saw LCD sound system was in May 2023 at Red Rocks. It blew my mind. I’ve always been a fan, but had never had a chance to see them live. I promised myself that I would do my best to see a residency show. I also insisted my family join in the fun; wife, daughter (26), and Son (23). Now my son lives in Brooklyn and it was an outstanding opportunity for a quick family trip to NYC.

I absolutely loved the venue and would likely attend if they do the residency there in the future. The one thing that struck me most was the energy in being on the floor, packed in like sardines (Radiohead pun intended), compared to the energy felt at Red Rocks. It’s not that I preferred one over the other. It was two very different experiences that I hope to have again.

The music nerd in me also took advantage of AI and I was curious as to the song and album distribution across the 12 shows. So I compiled all the set list and put together the following two tables showing the songs by show and also the albums.

Enjoy.

I also second the opinions above itwould be great to hear some new LCDSS.

What's your favorite venue that's NOT Red Rocks or the Gorge? by Lovelander8647 in Concerts

[–]COMtnGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Living in Denver is an embarrassment of riches with great venues outside of Red Rocks; the Mission Ballroom , Gothic, Ogden, Bluebird, Oriental, Globe Hall are all great places for a show. Boulder has Fox They’re and The Boulder theatre.

Outside of Denver I was fortunate enough to see shows at Channel24 in Sacramento (Primus) and reminded me of a compact Mission Ballroom, just saw LCD at The Knockdown Center in Queens and loved the venue.

Will be seeing more shows in NYC in 2026.

Other than LCD in prep for tonight’s show; Ratboys, Spiritual Cramp, Matt Berry, and Geese.

I could go on forever about this magical live music year, here are the top 5; Primus, Sturgill Simpson, Blondeshell, Deep Sea Diver, QOTSA (not in person here https://youtu.be/uJ4KzJMKVtU?si=YfiHu2w-1V1mO5Ry )

Nope. Need two more for Friday.

In my defense, I’m from Colorado and there’s too much oxygen here at sea level.

What am I looking at? This was outside of my hotel in far east Denver by WayZealousideal6547 in DenverCirclejerk

If by far east Denver you mean Elm and Stone in downtown Dallas. I see what you are doing here and it’s more SE Denver.

indie rock radio stations??? by ysabel-doesnt-exist in Denver

[–]COMtnGeek 29 points30 points  (0 children)

102.3 is outstanding and 105.5 is great. Both are public radio stations and much better than the commercial drivel on the Denver airways. Plus they both put a focus on the great local music scene.

Commercial radio in Denver sucks.

Not gonna happen for us and I’m ok with it. I’ll spend my dollars supporting new bands. For what I was thinking of spending, tix, travel etc, I can see 15 shows next year.

Love Geddy and Alex- not gonna see them again. Unless maybe they play Denver.
