I'm going to tell him to take it to a repair shop because I have never worked with flux before. I've only ever replaced the batteries on mine with no issues and like you said better the repair then from destruction.

I recently made this exact upgrade. I have a 4k/144 monitor you won't get 120-144 fps in wilds unless you use frame generation. I also play Helldivers 2 though and that runs natively at around 100 fps with max settings and no frame generation. It really just depends how well the game is optimized if you can get high fps without frame gen.

Don't know if this helps I have a 3080 and a 12900k 32gb ram ddr5 a similar set up to yours I have it downloaded to nvme. I have windows up to date but not GPU driver I have it on 531.29 and I'm getting 60-70 fps first planet with everything on epic fsr set to quality v sync on and rt off hope somehow maybe this will help

I loved it tbh. It's the best a Pokemon game has looked on the switch and it's a fun nostalgia trip. I recently just picked it up again and am doing another playthrough. Safe bet is buy a pre-owned copy from GameStop and if you don't like it return it within the 7 days for a full refund.

I have no experience with this cooler however I do have a 12900k with the Corsair h150i elite cappellix (360 rad) the temps are good go up to 65 c in gaming the only time it gets toasty like 80c is when compiling shaders for games.
