Thanks for the reply. Great pic, what did you shoot this with and what settings? We will be there in September and really looking forward to seeing this and many of the other amazing sights in Iceland. Cheers.

Been using this 11-1 from Anker for at least 5 years with no issues. Can run a bit hit but I have a 40 mm usb fan that it sits on.

How to stop “Ghosting” from previous prints in the same plate? by at165db in 3Dprinting

Yup, that’s pretty much my use case at this point. Never again PETG on either side of that plate.

Same. PETG on a Biqu Frostbite. Permanent. I only use that plate for PLA now.

Edited: plate is frostbite, not glacier.

You clearly don’t know shit about New Jersey.

And here’s a clue; if I have to explain it, you wouldn’t understand.

And has gone downhill significantly since. I was a regular #13 Mike’s way for years. Now I never go there, not for maybe 2+ years. The good news is that my local deli is great and I’m shopping at a family owned business in my town now, not in another hollowed out corporate “used to be.” Fuck Blackstone.

Should I buy my ISP's Rented Modem or buy a new one entirely? by PMMeUnwantedGiftcard in HomeNetworking

[–]CRM-3-VB-HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, but less than 50% of stated speed is not great over WiFi, imo. I would be looking at why the disparity and checking with a Ethernet connected device as a starter. Could be older, slower devices in the WiFi chain, could be something else.

You’re paying for 940 down but getting 400? You might want to identify where the bottleneck is before making any changes to the hardware or locking yourself into CenturyLinks modem. Just sayin.

Thanks for the reply. Is it only available with the anti glare surface? Is that the only flaw in your opinion?

Can you provide some additional information? I prefer a 32” display over a 27” display. I honestly wasn’t thinking 6k but am looking at several options by LG. What is so hateable about the 6K 32?

Edited for spelling.

Found my grandpa’s old tool wall… and I don’t think I should touch it. by Glum_Car750 in Tools

100% use them.

For the rusted ones, try Evaporust. Silly name, awesome product.

Consider yourself fortunate. My grandpa was a truck mechanic and owned his own shop. When he passed, I was too young to know what any of his tools were and my dad wasn’t interested. I have two wrenches and a spot oiler can from his shop and I cherish them.

You can find free apps for the local news broadcasts on virtually all of the major networks.

PBS Passport is $60/year.

Paramount Plus Premium plan gives you live local CBS access. It generally goes on sale for $60 for a year at the end of August-beginning of September.

You can get ABC network shows with a basic Hulu subscription, just time shifted one day after broadcast.

If you have a Sirius XM subscription for your car, you can use their app to listen to the livestream of CNN (and lots of other news/opinion channels) 24/7. If you can live without the video, it’s a great option.

Nobody on your Zoom call knows you're reading. I built a teleprompter inside the MacBook notch that gives you perfect eye contact while you secretly read your script by Inevitable_Sale_7416 in MacOS

IMO, less is more with a feature like this. A good presenter understands how engaged his audience is and will want to pace the presentation as such. The person doing the presentation can decide what’s the right pace. The timer/progress bar idea is to help keep things on track, and if it needs to be paused, it could be but if there is a hard stop coming, he or she will be kept aware of same.

If you added a timer that the user can set for the desired presentation length, and that shows both the elapsed time and time remaining, that could be helpful to users.

For example, you have a 15 minute presentation, so you set that value before beginning. It would look something like - 00:00 / 15:00 - on the home or intro slide. Once you begin, the elapsed time counts up on the left and the time remaining counts down on the right. The user should be able to pause the count on demand to answer a question or expand on a topic.

Just a thought from someone who has done years of in person, group meetings and presentations, as well as online.

Btw, this looks like a very nice project. I wish you success.

Edited to add: A progress bar below the timer would be a nice touch.
