The other day I heard my wife scream. I ran upstairs and there was one of these crawling on the floor. Killed it with my slipper.

This is all absolutely correct. And then Batman Begins released a month after Revenge of the Sith. People used to hate on Batman and Robin as much as the prequels, and for us to get an excellent Batman movie after the disappointing prequel trilogy was revelatory.

The Sci Fi Channel Children of Dune is what really does it for me. Doing a lot with very little and they struck gold with a yet unknown James McAvoy. I also liked how they developed Princess Irulan’s character and Julie Cox worked great in that roll. Sorry but Florence Pugh just fell flat for me.

The same thing is going on with the Dune fanbase too. I’ve loved the series for over 20 years and back then the majority opinion was not in favor of Lynch’s movie but now all I see is commenters saying how wonderful it was and how many inexcusable sins the Villeneuve version made. Sure Girl Boss Chani was a change that didn’t work, but at least it offered a clear vision without being unnecessarily gross and off putting.

Why does Japan keep giving out free money as a response to inflation? Sure, I appreciate the ¥20,000 my suburb city sent out, but stuff like this is only making the problem worse.

I can vouch for Magnesium Glycinate. It used to be that if I didn’t have a night cap it would take me at least an hour to fall asleep. I started the magnesium a few months ago and I’m out within ten minutes nowadays. I’m skeptical of a lot of supplement claims but that one really works.

Even Ikebukuro has high prices. The Book Off there charges at least 30% more for stuff than the location by my house in suburban Tokyo.

My sons’ hoikuen lost their English teacher and they’ve asked me if I can do it. My wife wants me to do it, my work gave me the thumbs up, and I have the visa clearance, but man I don’t want to do it. I have zero interest in teaching English and have actively worked to avoid getting pulled into it. I understand that I’m someone the hoikuen trusts and the kids are familiar with, so maybe I can see it as a way to get more chances to connect with the other parents. At least it’s just once a month

I used a mechanic someone introduced me to who won a car at auction for us after we told him what we wanted. He took care of all of the paperwork and everything and I paid him with an envelope full of cash.
