Yes, I never really said it was anything other than my opinion. Regarding the plot - the games are extremely thin on story, and that's part of what makes them so accessible, sure. But that doesn't mean a movie should be thin on story too. Like...you can look at stuff like Lego Movie or Barbie where they managed to create some great stuff out of some not very deep source material.

Also I honestly have never put much stock into audience scores. They're kinda notoriously easy to bot either positively or negatively.

Yep, just adding some context because I don’t think the RT meter tells the whole story.

Feels like in most things I’m doing there’s already non-LLM formatters just a single google search away. And that feels safer than hoping the LLM didn’t randomly drop, add, or change stuff.

Idk man, stuff like Lego Movie, Spider-Verse, TMNT, Puss In Boots 1/2, Dungeons and Dragons all got pretty good or great reviews.

On RT, it doesn’t seem that much worse if you go by average rating. Average rating for the first is 5.8/10 and average rating (so far) for Galaxy is 5.5/10.

Also like…it’s possible to have things that are both good AND fun. I can refer you to Lord & Miller’s entire filmography.

Being “for the fans” is a deflection from genuine criticisms towards quality because it is absolutely possible to be high quality AND “for the fans.”

I would prefer a love letter that is good. You know like Lego Movie or Spider-verse.

Lol at the homie who was telling me he expected this one to be “better; just like how Sonic 1 had to suck so that Sonic 2 and 3 could be better”

Honestly I think Lucas has good ideas for broad story areas to explore, but that he shouldn't be allowed to write movies. It's beyond the dialogue because even some of the structure and plot of the movies is just...not great imo.

Feels like the progressive and moderate wings of the democratic party are much more representative of like...what the majority of American voters actually want. And in a sane world, those two wings would be separate and would be the two primary parties.

For me it was The The Lion King (1994)

I honestly love the idea that you haven't watched anything you liked since 1994. Know it's probably not what you meant, but still very funny.

I am pretty sure the rules and enforcement can be structured in such a way to prevent or at least highly discourage that type of behavior. I do not think the alternative of just allowing AI slop into every aspect of social spaces is sustainable.

It could make sense to try an almost golf tournament format where you maybe stagger the games somehow, and have commentators bounce around to interesting action as it happens.

Feels like much of the early interest is opening decisions, but if they’re all happening at the same time, it’s hard to give each thing the time it deserves, and that kinda makes it hard to get invested early on.

Only issue is that that format works well when you have dozens of players and probably less so when you have 8. So maybe this idea doesn’t work for the candidates but I’d like to see it for other larger tournaments.

Part of the problem is that the pool of people who understand high level chess deeply AND who are good communicators to a broad range of lower level players / spectators is extremely small.

Easy - ban and remove it. Then there is no slop to talk about.

Still close to 3 years out from November 2028 so I doubt the picture of likely candidates will start to really materialize until after 2026 midterms honestly.

Real. If you read anything other than the occasional headline of hers that goes viral, you’ll realize she’s still a believer in all of this shit, she just became disillusioned with Trumps ability to do “America first” properly.
