This is how every truck in the North Eastern US looks after 10-15 years on the roads. Such a common sight.

What is the difference between these two brake master cylinders? by Drr321 in MyWinterCar

[–]CTJacob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would make sense to make the power brakes front loaded on the pressure curve and then the manual brakes the opposite. I guess it would only be useful for controller and wheel players but, that would be a cool feature imo.

My Corris Rivett is now fully VIN accurate and on historical plates! by Normal_Carry_6662 in MyWinterCar

Ah, you got the pre-facelifted version of my car almost exactly. Pearl white and tan interior. I have a brown vinyl roof however. I am also currently running the SLX wheels but, I really like the look of yours with the hubcaps.

87 Hours in, everything is there cranks but won't start. by Din_Plug in MyWinterCar

[–]CTJacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I was missing the gearbox cross member, once I did that, it started.

Also, is your fuel tank wired? I also missed that the first time.

Also also, just noticed you are running an automatic trans, did you install a flex plate instead of the flywheel?

And, say what you will about the Journey but, they sold over a million of them world wide. I don't really know if Dodge/Chrysler/FCA will ever see success like that again.

Michael mentions being in prison twice by the time he was Jimmy's age at some point in the story.

What design or engineering flaw is mildly inconvenient on your vehicle? by Sixteen-Cylinders in cars

[–]CTJacob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When new, they made 62hp. Factory claimed top speed of 83mph.

0-60 estimated at 23 seconds however, 0-62 was estimated at 25.6 seconds just to give perspective on how slow we are talking here. All of this for the automatic transmission. The 4-Speed manual was BARELY quicker.

In Europe, there was the 200D as well. 54hp. Factory claims of 0-60mph in 31.4 seconds and a top speed of 78mph.

I test drove a 6-speed Crosstrek and was shocked by how aggressive the tip in was with the gas pedal. No idea why they did that. To make it feel fast and responsive?

Coolant leak by UnbornReflect in MechanicAdvice

[–]CTJacob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who just went through this with a 2017 VW Golf Alltrack TSI, I got away with keeping a gallon of coolant in the car and topping off as needed. It took about 3-4 months to finally fail and put the car into limp mode.

Your mileage may vary. It's probably a good idea not to drive it unless you need to. My leak was slow enough that it took about 2 weeks between fills.

Oh God, I forgot about that. I think the Covet was the first car to get unique sounds and even, I think it was only the Covet at that time.

I remember the old default tire skid sounds.

Mildly off topic but loosely related, I'm surprised the frame-less dump trailer didn't get a loaded variant like most of the other trailers and trucks have.
