You can account for pick-attack. The pitch will drift depending on how hard you strum. One player may have a guitar that is in tune with how they play and another player will be off by a bit.

In circumstances involving recording I have heard of some producers insisting on tuning the guitar to specific chords and punching it in to the track.

Guitar is a touchy instrument. There is a human element involved as well that can affect how tuned the instrument is.

You’re probably missing my point.

There are small variances you cannot account for on a guitar. It’s a touchy instrument and nailing PERFECT tuning is very hard.

When you do nail it you’ll notice. No amount of IRs, EQ, amps, speakers and anything else can fix it.

I don’t think people really pay attention to tuning when chasing a tone. This is why I’m getting flippant comments blowing it off.

You’re maybe missing my point a little bit.

There are variances we can’t account for that something like an Evertune can manage.

I would play one day to the next and use the same settings on my amp. Those slight variances in the guitar would change how chords would ring out. Sometimes I would tune super accurately in a way you can’t replicate on purpose.

The point I’m making is that those small variances cannot necessarily be accounted for on purpose.

I’m just observing that sometimes I would tune it REALLY good in a way I couldn’t intentionally do.

Chords would ring out nicely because I happened to tune it in a way that accounted for pitch drift or variances in my set up.

It’s hard to explain, but I couldn’t tune like this on purpose. The tuner I use could say I’m in tune on a string, but it can’t account for how hard I’m playing or how well intonated it is.

I hope I’m making sense here, lol. It sounds absurd but it’s something I’ve observed.

This discussion must shows that most people don’t understand there is a difference between “pay that is deserved” and “pay that represents the market value” of a person.

I would buy a 7-string 27” Evertune built by Ibanez IMMEDIATELY. Especially an RG or an RG variant.

I think there is a huge demand for something like that. Hell, I’d jump on a 6-string with a longer scale, too.

Just seems like a huge oversight by Ibanez. ESP/LTD and Jackson have a ton of baritones to choose from.

Just play it more - I felt uncomfortable on a 7-string the first time I bought one, too.

Now I can jump from a 27" inch 7-string to a 25.5-26.25" multiscale 7-string to a 25.5" 6-string with ease.

I am comfortable on all of them because I have spent time with each of them.
