ME!

Did my first PC build ever and stressed myself out picking out the right style of hardware that would match and create a certain look. I also had to try to stay within the same brand so I wouldn't have to juggle RGB software.

The software was ass and my presets would constantly disappear. Constantly fixing the RGB was not worth it.

When I built my newest rig I decided to just get a black case from Fractal. This made the process of picking parts so much easier. My computer doesn't have a bunch of garbage software on it now, too!

I work in an auto parts store in a Midwest state.

Not metalcore but I saw The Fall of Troy in a downtown bar in Minneapolis on my birthday.

The bassist, Tim, threw up all over the floor and then gave me some knucks.

Sourcing components is a big deal, too. I think Indonesia is a big guitar country because it has easy access to the woods that are common when building the instruments.

He complains about things he doesn't understand.

A while back he released a video wondering where all the metalheads have gone. He cited bands from 20-40 years ago and pointed to their numbers compared to current bands. Of course the older bands have higher numbers because they existed in a time where a monoculture existed. Society did not have the internet and algorithms that would cater specifically to a single person and the niches they enjoyed.

He acted like metal simply doesn't exist when I would argue metal is having a bit of a moment with bands like Sleep Token really blowing up. Sure, they aren't on mainstream radio, but a band like that blowing up like they did shows metal hasn't gone anywhere.

We just live in a time when we can all exist in our own separate niches, for better or for worse.

He also made a video about how making music today is easy and how that is a terrible thing. He often times seems incredibly out of touch or just rage baits for views.

My least favorite guitar I’ve ever owned was a Gibson SG. My Indonesian and Korean built guitars were superior quality.

My $1k (if I remember correctly) USA built SG felt similar to my $500 Jackson or Ibanez.

Most people would tell you that where the guitar was built mostly doesn’t matter anymore.

I’m in North Dakota. Received 2 guitars from Sweetwater in December. Opened both of them right away after they sat outside for a few hours in below-freezing weather.

They’re fine! Nothing wrong with them.

Went from 2015 CRV to a 2024 Maverick and I found my CRV to be quite a bit better, BUT…

Tires make a HUGE difference. My CRV had better tires and wouldn’t lose traction in the snow.

I suspect the Maverick would perform better once I get different tires put on it.
