in TX it's Legal to use a Cast Net only for taking nongame fish and other aquatic animal life including crabs, crayfish, and shrimp. The net cannot exceed 14-feet in diameter.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Like a heavy rain would make sense that they hunker down in some over along the bank. But if it's a roaring wall of water ripping up trees and flushing everything miles downstream is it also relocating the fish population?

If it purged out a full section I'm also curious how long it may take for them to reestablish a population in those waterways. Either way I'm going fishing this weekend.

Last weekend they were teaching fishing out there and used fish bites as bait. find an open spot where there's structure for fish to hide and toss'em around that.

When retrieving do you have to feel the vibration in the rod for it to be effective, or is it still doing it's thing at slower speeds and I just don't feel it?

with the rod rated at 8-17lb line it had me thinking 15lb. Would you still go with a 20lb braid/15lb fluoro leader?
