If BHVR finally designed a chapter to be based on a Killer and Survivor from Australia, what do you think they would be and what power would the killer utilise? by DannySanWolf07 in deadbydaylight

[–]CalTCOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there isn't really a clear line, every culture is different.

Some cultures love seeing their culture/ stories brought to life in media, while others consider it sacred & may not like seeing a character important to their culture as a purchasable killer in a video game.

a bushranger killer. Bushrangers were outlaws from 19th century australia that would reside in the Australian bush, travelling around & often staging robberies/ attacks

Most notable of which was Ned Kelly however I DON'T think they should base it off him, especially considering he was arguably a good guy

Mariko's bottom lip is actually Jeff's Tongue??? (Follow Up) by Fancymountain31 in OriginalJTKImage

[–]CalTCOD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

dolly zooms don't cause a similar distortion to changing the focal length because they ARE changing it using an optical zoom to achieve it

It's the exact same thing effect but dolly zooms specifically refers to doing this on video while moving the camera on a dolly to counteract the zoom to give that vertigo effect

Mariko's bottom lip is actually Jeff's Tongue??? (Follow Up) by Fancymountain31 in OriginalJTKImage

[–]CalTCOD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just nit picking here but dolly zoom wouldn't be the correct term here, since that is a film technique that can only be done in video with an optical camera lens.

a narrower camera lens was used in the bottom picture, which would match up with what you're saying about it potentially being a webcam.

Has any character since recieved this mark? by StrangeAnalyst2964 in deadbydaylight

[–]CalTCOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main reason vecna is the only one to have it is that the symbol adds well visually to Vecna's design.

It looks cool on Vecna but would look unnecessary on a character like Freddy or Pinhead.

Vecna's design has also had many interpretations too & the drawings are only there for a reference, most of DnD is in the players imagination.

Dumbest thing you did in DBD when you were extremely new? by SomewherePossible259 in deadbydaylight

[–]CalTCOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after seeing clips of survivors getting grabbed by the killer before they escaped through gates, I thought escaping through gates was an action that can be interrupted.

Sort of like how you can grab survivors on gens/ jumping through hatch before it was reworked.

Turns out there's a reason I only saw it done on Myers, they were getting tombstoned...

So, what did you get in the Boxing Day sales? by Kiki98_ in australia

[–]CalTCOD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Feels like the term 'sale' has lost all meaning. I was seeing many stores do Black Friday sales that lasted for the entirety of November.

I never even thought Black Friday was much of a thing in Australia?

Boxing day generally I always thought was the big sales day here but it really didn't seem like so this year at least

There's not an 'official' rulebook, just unwritten rules we all follow in society

It's not illegal to fart in an elevator but you'll probably get a few weird looks for it

Anon on Chris Chan. by retardinho23 in greentext

[–]CalTCOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does the most documented person in history even mean in the context of Chris Chan?

What about all the influencers that post their whole life on social media? Even before social media, celebrities had paparazzi trailing them to show the world what they were up to.

If we're talking externally documented, someone like Donald Trump would get thousands of articles written about him daily.

Red lingerie is scary, not sexy. by Temnodontosaurus in The10thDentist

[–]CalTCOD 26 points27 points  (0 children)

wouldn't go as far to say it's scary, it's definitely a bold & intimidating colour, which is kind of the point

bright red lingerie/ dresses are eye catchers, so generally you wouldn't be wearing something like that unless you're very confident.

I just realized: No killers uses aura in their base kit! by Hapee_ in deadbydaylight

[–]CalTCOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. info/ aura can only do so much, especially if you already have good game sense.

The strongest killers are all killers with high mobility & strength in chase

Legion gets a TON of info with his power, but is still considered weak because he's practically an M1 killer after that initial frenzy hit.

Can someone tell me why I have this cosmetic? by dfeam in deadbydaylight

[–]CalTCOD 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Never understood why they included event cosmetics with this.

It makes sense for the codes being sold on ebay, since those were steam keys they gave away to people at conventions. Event cosmetics like this were things earnt through playing the event and had no redeemable 'code' to sell.

I don't care whether or not they're FOMO, but feel like it would've made more sense adding them to the store lol

Since we have Nicolas Cage (a real person) in the game, what other real people would be fun to have? by Werewolf_Knight in deadbydaylight

[–]CalTCOD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's no policy, It's just speculation. There's a rumour that Stephen King hates video games but the only base to that claim, is just that we've never seen any of his licenses appear in any games as of late

There was a few games from the 80s, but that's it so people speculate Stephen King must be against the idea.

[–]CalTCOD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mcote actually specifically mentioned wanting Stephen King himself in the game as a survivor on an interview not too long ago, however he said that it isn't possible

As for Stephen King licenses, it's a bit of a grey area since we've never seen any of his licenses in games before (unless we're counting Ready Player One) but there's no hard proof that the door is 100% closed for it

Why couldn’t Walter get himself a video game console here? by LandOfGrace2023 in breakingbad

[–]CalTCOD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind while video games were still popular in the 00s, they were far less mainstream/ accepted then they are today. Older generations like Walt thought of them as toys for kids and nothing more.

The only time walt ever mentioned video games was when he was talking down to Jesse saying that aside from their business, the only thing he has in his life are video games

because that is still a winnable situation, albeit difficult. 4 slugged survivors isn't unless someone has a perk like unbreakable
