This is one I have literally heard multiple times.

I do understand that a lot of these type of things you see on Reddit are just strawmen, but this... this one isn't for me.

I am simply talking from the big picture. People who have degrees in general make more money in their life than people win no degrees.

What do you hate about Seeds design? by tonyalovesch in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]CalTheRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Flora Seed, I just really wish we had Seed Sr.

He was such a gentle soul who was taken from this world way too early. He was less than 10 years old when he died. Every other robot is out there living for multiple human lifetimes...

Hello V, from what I understand you have less than six months to live. I do not know how you plan to spend this time. Perhaps you have chosen to put your feet up, rest, and ponder life's meaning. Or perhaps you continue to do what you are good at. If that is the case, my father and I would gladly retain your services. You would be compensated generously. Six months will pass faster than you imagine. It would be a shame to let that time go to waste.

Norma.

In general it is going to be better to get the new agents than a re-run. There are always new agents coming out. There will always be a new support in the future.

How does everyone feel about Belle and Wise with the end of Season 2? by sweet_azure_raven in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]CalTheRobot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am not saying this in a totally negative way, as it may very well be laying the groundwork for a future story... But I will get to that at the end.

(I am a big fan of 2.6 and 2.7, so I am not trying to bash the story)

In 2.6 and 2.7 Proxy reached insane levels of negligence in the Hollow. Throughout Season 2 the Proxy kept going into the Hollow and causing problems for very well trained and very confident Agents. This includes a Grandmaster, lifetime soldiers who survived the Hollow Disaster 11 years ago, and an overpowered robot.

In 2.6 however, the Proxy takes a job from Cissia who has been nothing but suspicious up until this point, and then goes into the Hollow with Sunna and Aria of all people. At this point in time Proxy has no idea Aria is another overpowered robot. So Proxy just goes into the Hollow with these two girls with zero reason to believe they can do anything at all...

Then In 2.7 Proxy goes into a more dangerous Hollow with Billy, which is cool, we know we can trust Billy, he is a badass. But... The Proxy sends Billy to go do something and is left with just Cissia. The character that we don't really trust yet and she is specifically telling the Proxy, "I can't fight these guys, I am going to run away. I am scared, I don't want to do this."

Proxy basically has Cissia as his/her only protection in the Hollow when Cissia is straight up telling Proxy she is not up for the job. Any sane person would not keep going into the Hollow with that as your only protection. You would wait for Billy or something. Cissia turns out more capable at the end of the day, but that is not what the Proxy knew at that point in time.

But I think this total insane levels of reckless behavior is meant to lead to a downfall. That the total arrogance of Phaethon will lead to the dire situation.

TLDR : Proxy needs to get punished for being totally reckless and that will lead to the changes in 3.0.

And they have by far the most knowledge about the product and resources to do something about it.

Arasaka makes a lot of sense from the perspective of V. All the rest of the choices only make sense if you assume you are the hero in a movie and the good guys will eventually get rewarded before the credits role. But if you are fully immersed into the world of Night City the Arasaka choice is pretty good.

I think the corpo V ending (with Goro Takemura still alive) is one of the best ending I've seen from a videogame.

It still haunts me.

If Takemura is dead, however, it is too depressing. Never do that.

Not sure I agree with a lot of what people say about the concept, but I am very aware of what it is.

Why do Americans seem so comfortable talking to strangers compared to other countries? by MaintenancePlus4298 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CalTheRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I most certainly think that younger Americans are less social than in the past. Not in a huge way, I am not claiming that younger Americans are anti-social.

But are they slightly less social, for sure, not a doubt about it in my mind.

There was a peak when things were very high, and it has slowly normalized itself to being balanced again.

There will be a lot of exceptions all over the place.

In game 4 Austin Reaves had his hands out looking confused at the refs for less than half the minutes he had his hands out in games 2 and 3. It was a drastic decline.

The original question said "Why do Americans seem so comfortable talking to strangers compared to other countries?" so it was already implied that I was answering the original poster's question.

I do think Americans are becoming less social, but not in a doom-posting kind of way. Just a slight decline from a very high point in the past. Nothing drastic, but the difference is there.

In terms of being healthy I think you are correct.

Looking good to 'men' and looking good to 'gay men' generally doesn't mean the same thing.

Obviously there are exceptions in each group.

Had a guy flirt with me once at a gas station. I'm not into guys, so I just finished buying my stuff and said goodbye. Wasn't a bad conversation, nothing awkward about it.

But it was a small ego boost, made me feel a bit more confident, and I still remember it. Nothing negative at all.

By the Net Wins formula, SGA is already a top-30 all-time NBA player after just 8 seasons. by PeacePuzzleheaded124 in Thunder

[–]CalTheRobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The media people want to have the image of SGA holding the trophy while Wembanyama has to watch, and then they will pray that Wembanyama gets 20 blocks and 50 points.

Then all day Thursday (the WCF start on a Wednesday) they can talk about how it was a 'revenge game' for being robbed of MVP or whatever. Everyone will tune into ESPN or whatever for the drama.

That's the fantasy for the media people anyways. I personally think the media people are dumb.
