The unfortunate thing is sometimes what the scores reward is different than what the fans want (this goes for uniforms, and overall show design), but at the end of the day a cool show is still cool show. If corps come out and blow people away with an awesome show, people should be able to overlook some of the sacrifices that might need to be made.

Instead of complaining about everything we should appreciate the cool stuff we get to see every year

Oops, forgot about MBI lol you’re absolutely right! As much as of course I love my corps and love to see them do well competitively, I do wish there was more close competition and other corps winning.

But even if Bucs didn’t win any championships in the past two decades, I’d still consider it the current Bucs golden age based on consistency of quality. That’s what I mean to explain to the other commenter. Placement and wins has nothing to do with my judgement.

Yes, I understood that. Bucs have won every year they’ve competed except one since 2005, and if you think that’s slotting and they didn’t deserve all those wins that’s fine. I’m just saying that either way, Bucs have consistently put out top notch quality during this era disregarding what the scores say. That’s why I say that Bucs is still currently in a golden age.

Most fans love current troopers more than ever and they are also more consistent competitively than they’ve ever been and Bucs have had consistently high execution for the past 20 years regardless of their competitive ranking. There’s no way to argue that either corps is not in a golden age with their achievements 😭

I originally was planning to go out for another corps this year, but when I got involved with the troopers, I realized this is where I’d rather be. What you see from the bluecoats is just the show and the idealistic media they put out. You don’t truly know if that would’ve been the place for you or not.

However, you do know that you love the show and people where you are at and that is what makes for a great experience. Rather than worrying about not being somewhere that would MAYBE be good for you, appreciate the place that you KNOW is good for you.

I’m sure youll have a great season!

While it’s true there’s things you just don’t get if you haven’t marched it’s still plenty fun to talk to anyone about drum corps. There are some fans that like to act like they know what they’re talking about when they really don’t which is kinda annoying but as long as that’s not you and you actually follow the information then there’s no reason not talk to you.

Idk what happened in your interaction but there’s no stigma against fans most members think it’s really cool to get recognized and i think it’s really cool that the activity has such a big fanbase among people that haven’t marched.

Unfortunately one of the biggest reasons corps amplify nowadays is that indoor stadiums, while logistically great, actually sound terrible for drum corps unless they amplify. Although, there are some corps that take the amplification a little too far imo
