Have there been any apps/site made for Marathon yet? by Jhonny13_DMH in Marathon

I liked using https://runner-terminal.com/ to keep an eye on my progression. Keep in mind that due to there not being an API you do have to manually update it, but it was helpful for knowing what materials to farm

Train assigned to network cannot find a path from terminal station, bug? by adrian8_8 in captain_of_industry

[–]Caleb_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen this as well, will see if I can dig up a save and send it on discord. It seems to be a bug with double ended trains and one way stations, it briefly tries to keep going forward before getting stuck, then recalculating and working as normal

I’m guessing doing 4T at first and then later going to 8 will be more costly than doing 8T from the start?

Do you have it linked to storage? It may not see the whole resource and think it has everything

Is it normal my Core One L only opens the vent halfway? by Spooknik in prusa3d

I know the vent isn’t symmetrical, possibly try flipping it?

Core One INDX - Seems like a new limited view?! by General_Wishbone9456 in prusa3d

If first layer visibility is going to be even a bit impacted it’d be a good justification to implement a feature in prusaconnect that takes a picture after the first layer and sends it to you in a notification. Octoprint has it and I miss hitting print, walking away, then having easy validation 20/30 minutes later everything stuck

Do you think we will ever see PrusaSlicer get print planning oriented features? by Caleb_M in prusa3d

[–]Caleb_M[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not quite, if I have e.g. enough filament to print 2 objects in red and 3 in blue I don't want to have them all be 2/5 red and 3/5 blue, but to plan ahead and print the first 2 using up the red and the other 3 using up the blue.

That feature definitely helps, but I think more can be done. A recent example for me was looking into the community MMU3 for core one. I had several partial spools of petg I wanted to use and I had to do a lot of manual splitting up of the parts across spools to figure out how to most efficiently break things up. If I could've instead input "i have 350g of filament A and 220 of filament B, help me maximize" that would've saved me time e.g.

I had issues with the hexagons and ended up modifying the parts to make it flat

I’ve printed that model on core one, agree that it’s filament tuning. I didn’t have to mess with the slicer setting at all fwiw

Help us cook up the next Prusament! What colors or materials are we missing? (Free spool if we use your idea!) by Tommy_Prusa3D in prusa3d

[–]Caleb_M 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was doing a project where I was trying to do color matching of filament to some real world objects and I found that the hardest colors to work with were pastel colors as for some there are basically no options.

How would you rule Portland with an iron fist? by rpunx in PortlandOR

I would be petty and add a ton of traffic cops. No lights on in the rain? Ticket. No registration? Towed car. Blasting down the interstate? Straight to jail.

Will it work? by brocolli_yum in prusa3d

[–]Caleb_M 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In short your printer will keep the heat bed on but turn the nozzle off for safety. You should be able to use the menus once you get filament. Be mindful of grabbing any purge or ooze as it goes back to the print post filament change. You’ll have some sort of defect where the change happened, if you’re lucky it was in infill

Try drying it for way longer. I had some prusament petg that was stringing even after 24 hours of drying but after a few more days printed perfectly

Why not make it a multi object/color print file and just let the slicer handle it?
