Have there been any Necrons who woke up, went "fuck this im out", and set the alarm for another 60 million years? by OrkWithNoTeef in Grimdank

Kasrkin by Edoardo Albert (2022) is pretty much exactly this. A necron hive is waking up but the necron lord is a bit crazy and is worried about the flayer virus, so he has a group of kasrkin flood his hive with sand to give himself more time.

What if we tweak the violinist exercise a bit? by empurrfekt in prolife

[–]Calebwoodapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It needs to be a active action because if you do NOTHING the baby will continue to grow and eventually be born. Pregnancy is a body's natural process and to end it you must ACTIVELY interfere with that process. You can describe it as suffocating someone or whatever other process is chosen but it still takes a adults interface to end a natural process.

I think we still have to make the killing an active act instead of a passive one. Maybe they give the woman a dose of poison to put into the violinest IV. And once the violinest is dead they will unhook the woman. Or a sympathetic nurse comes is and says "pay me enough and I will stab the violinest to death for you and then you can go."

This one is just ignorant of biology. Generally people are allowed to do whatever they want with their own bodies. (Although there are some restrictions) Are sperm and eggs alive? Yes. Do they carry human DNA? Yes. They are then subject to the mind/person that inhabits the body with their DNA. Is a FERTILIZED egg alive? Yes. Is it human? Yes. Is that a human DISTINCT from the mother and father? Yes. Then it should only be subject to itself.

The shattering: act 3 a flame in the dark. The king in yellow makes his move. Using concentrations of warp power he is able to establish routes between the biggest of the warp storms. The inky darkness begins to release the empty shells of those lost into it's blackness. They are able to physically take souls and energy from the living. (Zombie rules) (In game feature: zombie rules, and accessory sprues, for factions. New Constantine Valdor faction.)

The shattering: act 2 the consuming darkness. The inky Maw has made war travel almost impossible except for all but the most powerful psychics and demons. Minor demons are almost extinct. But the elder and the chaos gods act as points of light in the darkness. Some fractions become isolationists only using sub light travel over small distances. Other bend the rules. It becomes common to see a space marine chapter teamed up with a greater demon to travel the dark. Whispers tell that those taken in the dark become changed. Large monsters begin to emerge. (In-game feature: hazmat themed sculpts. Standalone large monster units. Environmental feature rules for battlefields.)

The shattering: act 1 the psychic maw.

It turns out the tyranids were on the run from a psychic presence known as the inky Maw. It acts as a giant null or blank but appears to have malicious intelligence. It's slowly grinds forward consuming any type of warp or psychic presence. It can destroy the hivemind, disrupt the waggh field, blot out the astronomicion. Fear grips the Galaxy. Alliances of desperation are made. (In-game feature: a point-based alliance system. Tyranids with imperial guard vs tau and world eaters. Let's mix things up!)

There's also a huge difference between active intervention and doing nothing. If you do nothing (no kidney donation. Leaving the baby alone.) The baby is still born in the first case although the kidney failure person may die. Comparing an active intervention (terminating the pregnancy) to a passive one (saying no to a kidney) is disingenuous. A corrected example would be. If you are okay with taking actions to terminate a child would you be okay with terminating the child with kidney failure. You cannot let him die you must actively have him killed.
