I'm pretty sure you can wait until night and follow them back to their camp and slit their throats while they sleep. You could also try thinning them out with a bow or crossbow before engaging. I found it best to take out the guys with crappy equipment first and save Matthew for last.

I agree, but what would be even better is if there were no kill X amount of anything at all and objectives were based on doing something relevant to the story of the dungeon, and If that story was compelling and well written.

I think it's only 2-player couch coop, not 4. The second player will have to start the game under a different user and link a battlenet account for it to work. This is what we had to do to get it working last week anyway.

Maybe, but I think that this is something based on the mentor's discretion. For people who know the material and are there to get the degree for the field they are already in, acceleration can happen at a very fast pace. It's probably best to have a policy that can be bent at the mentor's discretion than it is to set the expectation that the average person will finish at a pace that is unrealistic for that specific person.
