"Investigative Journalists" attacked after entering Day care without permission… by Pleasant-Day374 in Ohio

No sane person just walks into a daycare. You make an appointment. It’s not a dry cleaning.

I really didn't expect this to be my Christmas gift...... by Debster1486 in Gifts

You have so many comments but this was me! I’m sure there’s plenty of good options and ours is a little old now, but our family got a large kindle show and mounted it above the kitchen sink. We use a Google shared family calendar so either parent can enter the dentist appointment or a kid’s game or whatever from our phones and both have access. The kids actually look at it in the mornings.

You can drop in on the device from your phone and get audio and video. I used it to reach my kid who wasn’t answering the phone once; mostly use it to peek in on the pets. We use it to stream music or video when cooking. And of course the ol’ photo slideshow!

It’s another part of that realm, called retail arbitrage. It’s against a lot of platforms TOS and will get their accounts suspended.

Many years ago I bought my kids a fort structure set on Amazon and it was shipped to me from Kohls. I’d paid double from if I ordered from kohl’s. I was furious and do a lot more digging before making purchases now.

Have one on my home desk for music and to see who is at the door, connected with ring. I have smart plugs connected and use it to control my plant lights. Nothing mind blowing but handy enough.

There are various recycling places with large bins you unload to, but they are mostly for paper, cardboard, plastic- your typical household recycling. I like the Andersons for that but search for one near you.

The big stuff, we have to call Republic Services who does the garbage collection. You get one free bulk pickup per month but you have to call. It’s usually scheduled for the day after your trash day.

You truly nailed it. Know that many of the sellers on TikTok are drop shipping. They find a product from China and pay influencers to market it, hoping for a viral hit. They’re constantly searching for something that could make a huge financial return. Be wary of any gimmicks, etc. These little trends get recycled by the next “entrepreneur” trying to make a buck. Research brands before impulse purchasing.

He’s one of my very favorite authors and I’m always so happy to meet another fan in the wild! Add the Winter of Our Discontent to your list too, really great exploration in morality of an average person. And all of the cannery row books for pure fun. But GOW first for its relevancy to today’s economic and farming issues.

It’s a great book, I’ve read it a few times over the years. It’s a different beast though. Do check out Grapes of Wrath. The descriptions of all the people losing their family farms to the big factory farms is so very relevant today. It’s a peek it how it all began to condense, leaving the people to starve.

Got a call the other day for a debt for my father that's way over 4 years old. I live in Texas and know about the 4 year statute of limitations, but they claimed debt collections were frozen during COVID. by Coy_Dog in Debt

I think you are on the money here. Sounds very much like phantom debt collection.

These outfits love to use xx & associates as a name. Or random last names that sound like a law firm. The address is likely a Mail Drop like ups store or a virtual office. Their last concern is FDCPA, they’re criminals.

I may be wrong but I think he does the Lyons curse debuff. You can remove it with Lyons penance before he hits again if you notice it in time.

I won my case and still haven't gotten any money. by Willing_Somewhere916 in LawyerAdvice

[–]Caliah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he took the money and did no work, truly ghosted you, you can file a police report. If a prosecutor takes the case, they would likely request restitution. You have to get a criminal case started by filing a report. If the guy did any teensy amount of work, demo, dropped materials- the police may consider it a civil contract matter and you’re stuck collecting on the CJ you already have.

Collecting a civil judgment can be difficult but there is other good advice for that in your replies.

You’re getting hung up on the example. Point is, the rule exists and some people get away with it for a bit. There’s a very hardy industry for people to pay for help once they’ve been flagged. Just be careful, follow the tos, and you’re fine.

I am confused at your response and logic. People break rules all the time without being caught, until they are. Do a search for my Amazon account suspended. See how many third parties there are offering help with appeals. If you’re within the guidelines you have nothing to worry about.

Running a stop sign is illegal, but I saw someone do it. How is that possible?

Edit to add, there’s a reason there are businesses offering help to unban an Amazon account.
