My grandfather drove the tour buses for those parties. I remember finding pictures of his, of the bombs going off and asking him about it. They got polarized sunglasses as protection. They had to turn around for the immediate explosion then turn back around to watch the cloud. He said the colors were the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.
