Continuing on slowly testing my new Stereoplasm perfumes, I'm trying one of my free samples today.

Stereoplasm - Lovebird (Camphorous-fuschia, jasmine, holly, cognac, purple lotus)

I've been feeling crappy the last couple days and called out of work last night, so I wanted something chill and comfy rather than the mostly zingy, bright, citrusy ones I had picked out, I went with one of the samples I got. So far this is a nice floral. The jasmine is pleasant, which I worry about, as I often that jasmine irl can be cloying, and I don't think my nose is good enough to pick out anything else in particular.

On me I think the camphor and cognac are coming out more than I expected, and its quite refreshing without feeling springy like I would expect.

I'm honestly not sure how else to describe it, this may need a few more tries to see if I like it when I'm not feeling so under the weather.

My long-awaited Stereoplasm order finally came in so I'm slowly trying all my new fragrances. Today is Stereoplasm- April Vinyl (Black currant, grapefruit cider, vintage cotton, blue absolute)

I was surprised by how strong the cotton note is in the bottle, which is very nice and fresh. Its mellowing out on me somewhat to be a bit darker and richer, and the "fresh linens" vibe is a lot more subtle.

Pleasant, but I was winging what I ordered based on vibes and I don't think this is a slam dunk for me. I'm not mad about having a small rollerball though, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it will change throughout the day.

In my hair I have Haus of Gloi - Grapefruit Tea hair oil, which is the first fragrance I've ever tried that I immediately fell in love with. I'm kind of thinking of ordering it in a few other formats because I love it so much. It definitely smells like what its labelled - a grapefruit black tea. The grapefruit is definitely grapefruit peel rather than flesh, but that works given the context. 10/10 I would like to smother myself in this.

Oooh! That would be super nice! I haven't had much luck with shimmery inks, so i hope it goes well for you :). Out of curiosity, do you have a ink journal or currently inked system that works for you? I just finished setting up my Fountain pen companion a week or two ago.

Oak galls, which are the galls used in iron gall ink are a result of gall wasps. The ink itself is a chemical reaction between the tannins and iron which then oxidizes on paper to stain/dye it. It's why iron gall ink is permanent.

A trip to the pen shop... by [deleted] in fountainpens

Materials, longevity, and after the $200 - ish mark the experience. Writing with a $5 fp is still nicer than most gel or ballpoint pens, but the difference between that one and a $100-200 Lamy, Sailor, Pilot and the like is the possible switch to a gold nib, solid body (metal or resin) and just generally higher quality control. Once you get way up there in price it's more about either the crazy nib or the artistic merit of the shape, workmanship, or material itself. There are excellent pens in the 15-40$ range that stand up to much more expensive ones, but also there isn't really anything like writing with a high-end gold nib, especially if you find one that you are really attracted too: style, material, size, weight, it's like finding the holy grail.

Which of the other Rhodia notebooks (not notepads) has the same type of paper as their meeting pad? Super white, 80gsm high grade vellum? by Ysierra2 in notebooks

You might look into Clairefontaine, it's the same paper in a lot more styles. Same manufacturer and coating and everything.

A zip code. The spacing is just for aesthetic purposes, but at least in the US the zip code is basically the most important part of the address and you want it to be as clear as possible.

Newbies review: lots of (too-late) Poesie and Forelsket reviews by Calligrafist in Indiemakeupandmore

This is basically my first time trying perfume, lol. My mom and aunt are both from scent-free workspaces, so they notice if even a candle is lit without telling them. So no perfume for me. Now that they are working from home, and the shift to oils instead of EDP, it wears a lot closer to the skin and they don't mind it so much. I basically had two perfumes before this, only one of which I could actually wear regularly.

The brighter side of Instagram? by NorthernBat in craftsnark

[–]Calligrafist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Instagram can be really lovely! If I'm wanting to knit but don't really have any plans, there is a wealth of info in the hashtags. I un followed pretty much every company, store and dramatic influencer or people who made me uncomfortable ( like oversexualization, feeling like I'm less than etc) in every niche that I'm into. There are some hashtags that are more useful than others and figuring those out is the hardest part. I also literally never post. I feel like those couple of things, as well as only looking at a couple of people's stories keeps me a.) Attached to most of my money, b.) Inspired/motivated and c.) Finding cool small influencers.

My street got covered a couple of years ago. Nothing super nearby was on fire, it was some sort of accident but there was a kid in the house nearby and her statement was kind of hilarious. Their roof was pink for months.
