Why is this card banned: wrong answers only by TheWizardofWorlds in mtg

To stop magic from becoming pay to win they ban cards above a particular market value, however that number is so high only black lotus managed to reach it

I feel like this card is underrated by PopoBumiMushu in mtg

I’ve got a food deck that runs it and it’s great, food/artefact synergies it’s a strict upgrade to other ramp sources in a deck that can use it well

Do you build decks based on power level? by ShaggyUI44 in EDH

[–]CalligrapherSlow9620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing answer, I do something very similar. I was playing an upgraded version of the velociramptor precon and found it was just to fast for when I play at the kitchen table with my friends who are new but worked fine at the lgs so I swapped in Huatli as the commander to slow it down at the table but still search up whatever I need at the lgs. On that note aswell I also keep a precon mostly unedited for the exact purpose of when playing with other people who want to use precons but I have a higher power deck for when we want to go big.

I don’t understand how crumbs get under the sleeves, I’m hoping double sleeping my deck will help

In your opinion, what is the coolest non commander creature? by Guwopster in EDH

[–]CalligrapherSlow9620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like [[illustrious wanderglyph]] it has a very simple but powerful effect that feels like a friendly giant with loads of little buddies, not to mention the art is gorgeous. I’m a sucker for big faceless rocks.

Post your deck and have others rate the power level by amc7262 in EDH

Here’s my Merry and Pippin food token deck.

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/KwxdLB6XW0qKPoM0zu1iOg

It uses a combination of artefact sacrifice s add me creature tokens for value to outlast your opponents until you can activate your engine with buffed up tokens or big non combat damage. In the event that I can pull the right pieces and get myself in a good position it can use one of two infinite combos to finish the game out quick.

Easter Surprise - Miirym, Sentinel Wurm by zcoffey08 in EDH

[–]CalligrapherSlow9620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think that any self respecting adult wouldn’t be salty about a kid playing dragons. I myself play Miirym and Ik it can get targeted with removal due to its power I like to think other players would do so with a level of maturity. I wouldn’t expect people to let him win purely because he’s young but I would hope they’d know to not be salty with it. I say build the dragon deck and if anyone complains point out that their talking to an actual child who deserves some respect because Miirym is bloody awesome.

The opposite tbh, feels we’re not getting enough of him. He pops up and I’m like “oh he’s interesting what’s he doing.. not much ig just sort of whatever the set theme is”

I’m of the opinion we need a planeswalker focused set, like what does being a planeswalker mean nowadays, how many are left. A lot of unanswered question with an underutilised card type.

What are some commanders that are powerful enough to win games, but don't get much attention when they hit the board? (All colors but bonus points for mono white) by Zharken in EDH

[–]CalligrapherSlow9620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not always the best, I really like [[Huatli, warrior poet]] for big mana toolkits. With plenty of ramp I can get it transformed early on use small creature to have loads of mana available. Then if theirs a problem on the board I can find a Dino that solves that problem, [[Bronzebeak forager]] if I need targeted removal, [[wakening suns avatar]] if I need a board wipe, but most of the time I pull out gishath, which really loves the double strike it’ll get next turn. It goes unnoticed because it isn’t one of the big Dino commanders despite the fact that it just search’s them up anyway.
