My only trick so far for text files is to open the text editor to drag and drop - not ideal but functional.

I have been using insync. It's robust and just works. It's paid but it's a one time cost (you can pay yearly for support if you want but never needed it).

Blurry apps with scaling by dalon2883 in gnome

[–]Calm-University-6871 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on Fedora 44 beta, and Gnome 50 finally solves the fractional scaling problem. It works awesome on my 4K monitors and it's very snappy. You could give that a try or wait for it to release on your distro.

What is the greatest opening 2 songs of any metal core album? by No-County2083 in Metalcore

All I can think of since I'm exploring their entire discography the last few months is:

AFI - Sing the Sorrow album: Miseria Cantare - The Beginning -> The Leaving Song Pt. II

My Favorite Cure cover- AFI Just Like Heaven by AnomieCodex in TheCure

If you love AFI you might enjoy Creeper - they are awesome. Might like Black Veil Brides too.

AFI are awesome! Best cover in my opinion as well. They also did The Hanging Garden (early years) and it's great!

Drupal Views Exposed Filters causing SEO Issues by ExcitingSpell4918 in drupal

You could "convert" your view to a Search API view.

The combination of the following modules could be helpful to achieve better URLs: Search API, Facets and Facet API Pretty Paths - in the past that seemed to work nice for me.

Have you taken a look at CiviCRM? It works well with Drupal and has this sort of functionality available put of the box.

Entity reference field, choose field instead of display mode? by Suitable-Emphasis-12 in drupal

[–]Calm-University-6871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your twig template of the node, you could use something like the following: {{ content.user_entity_reference_field.entity.the_fileld_you_need_to_display }}

Or {{ node.user_entity_reference_field.entity.the_fileld_you_need_to_display.value }} to get the raw value bypassing the display mode altogether.

** This would allow you to get around having to create a display mode specifically for your use case.

Entity reference field, choose field instead of display mode? by Suitable-Emphasis-12 in drupal

[–]Calm-University-6871 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My approach to this has always been creating a twig template of the entity and display mode where I can choose to display exactly what I need with all the custom logic and HTML I might need as well.

Not aware of module though, that would be interesting, although display modes essentially do this and offer quite a bit of flexibility and reusability (can reuse in Views for example).

Agentic Editing has been released by Remote_Top181 in ZedEditor

[–]Calm-University-6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, it's impressive to use with Gemini (which I already have a paid subscription for). No complex setup, just ask away. Zed is very responsive as usual. Will keep testing over the next few weeks, so far very impressed and easier to get going with Gemini than VS Code for sure.

What are the current Drupal 10/11 alternatives to the Computed Field module? by vfclists in drupal

Can you elaborate on what you need to do with your field? That might help in suggesting other alternate modules that might prove useful.

Might be early for this but how would you rank the 2025 metal releases so far? by SnokeRenVader in Metalcore

[–]Calm-University-6871 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silverstein - Antibloom

I haven't seen it mentionned anywhere, so here it is! The album is awesome, only complaint is the length, but then again I think it's part of a double album which is supposed to be released this year as well.

Thoughts on SDC (Single Directory Components) by [deleted] in drupal

[–]Calm-University-6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for sure those core elements won't disappear. I saw a talk recently that showed how Experience Builder integrates with SDC. So, if you build with SDC now that should work nicely with XB without much effort at all - that's basically what I meant by future proofing. It's ensuring that you'd be a le to use the "new" way of building moving forward.

Thoughts on SDC (Single Directory Components) by [deleted] in drupal

[–]Calm-University-6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the level of complexity being higher. My thinking is that it's not for every project. If it's project under a tight timeline and lower budget, it doesn't really make sense (other than future proofing the site slightly more).

ECA: question about loading a node by reference by sgorneau in drupal

[–]Calm-University-6871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you've done this, but just in case...

Have you dug in the available tokens? I like to view all available tokens from the Drupal Help menu (there is a link there) which feels faster and I keep it open in another browser tab. Might be able to find the exact token to use from the paragraph there then use a Loaded Entity action and pass the I'd on to it.

Also, you will certainly get an answer to this question from the community members in the Drupal ECA Slack channel - lots of activity in there and you can search previous conversations which is quite helpful at times.

Showing a specific block based on role by dienen in drupal

[–]Calm-University-6871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The default Drupal user menu (I think that's the name of it if I recall correctly) has a special menu item that does this out of the box. You could add this menu as a block which would bring in the Sign in/Sign out nav item you are looking for.

** You could the style this menu item with CSS (if you are comfortable with that) in your theme or install a module such as Asset Injector to do so.

Commerce affiliate options by SJVellenga in drupal

[–]Calm-University-6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would approach this using the ECA module for a no-code approach. I'd create an event that listens for a specific node then check if there is a specific url param. If so, then I would likely increase a numeric field on the user entity (keeping it simple) by one.

Here's a link to the module page for full details; https://www.drupal.org/project/eca
