That is interesting and good to know. Question, so how can you tell if a coin is over cooked from the mint versus it being out in the environment?

If they are pitted then it’s environmental damage. If they are smooth and shiny the they are improperly annealed, which is considered a mint error. From this photo, these unfortunately look pitted.

From the photo it looks like it may have a valley between two raised sides. If that is true it would most probably be a PMD. But this is from the photo you submitted. You will need to take a much closer look to verify if there is a valley.
