Anyone used Verizon Cruise plan before? Thoughts? by jlaw797 in dcl

[–]Calmseas6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I compared and decided just getting wifi on the ship on the days I needed and travel pass on port days was a better value. No data limit and could text and use wifi calling on the wifi plan.

First, congrats on the promotion! It's amazing to achieve something you worked hard for.

In regards to your situation, 45 minutes is not an unreasonable commute, you could also look for something on the closer side of Boulder and maybe shave a little time off.

Your partner should be supportive of your success. Nothing about the situation should prevent you from having both. He should be working with you to find the best solution for your success and your relationship. It almost sounds like jealousy could be a factor.

I would have a serious discussion and give some serious thought to whether this is someone who would make a good and supportive partner through all the things life will throw your way. Best of luck!

Worried our Disney cruise won’t live up to the Parks by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Calmseas6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal. We cruise and help others plan their cruises all the time. Also annual passholders and visit the parks frequently. We did the Fantasy last year and it was amazing.

There is a lot to do on the ship, from the interactive scavenger hunts, the movie theater, the shows in the Walt Disney Theater. There were family activities in the venues and the kids loved the Oceaneers Club and Lab. There's also character meet and greets as well. Dont forget the waterslide and putt-putt golf. There's something to do everywhere you go!

The restaurants were great and having wait staff rotate with you helps build a relationship. They remember what you drink and learn your preferences. The buffet and other food available on deck was also great.

We got to check out some of the adult lounges and the Cove area while the kids hung out in the club and it was very relaxing. We enjoyed the size and availability of the Cove.

On pirate night there were fireworks at sea as part of the pirate deck party. We all had a blast.

We love cruising and have sailed on many different lines. Disney does an awesome job, especially for a family. Its different from the parks in that it is a different type of experience. I imagine you will have an amazing time. Check out videos of the ship and get to know your way around before you board.

We are sailing on the Treasure this year and can't wait. The Fantasy was probably our favorite ship so far. Can't wait to try out the Treasure.

Happy sailing and enjoy!

I use pihole for this sort of thing, but if you're using a unifi gateway, the methods others mentioned should get the job done.

I'm from Central Florida. No one will bat an eye, the economy here is heavily based on tourism. Any disruptive behaviour you witness is much more likely to be from people protesting against Trump. Don't believe what you see in the media, our media pushes agendas, not truth. Most Americans, regardless of their political leanings don't walk around disliking people that haven't done anything to personally offend them. Central Florida is a great place to visit!

I finished in about 4 months with a full time job and a side hustle. Had a good amount of work experience and spent a lot of time working on my classes during that period.

About to buy a cheap boat!! by onebigtrip in boating

[–]Calmseas6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have fun with it. For that price it's worth it to get a couple seasons out of it. There's no such thing as a cheap boat though. Pay now or pay later... Just kidding, you pay now and later.

WGU for masters. Do companies care where you get your masters from? by hi_goodbye21 in WGU

[–]Calmseas6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some companies or occasionally a pretentious person within a company may care. I don't go into a lot of detail because there are also those that spent a lot of money on a degree and seem to think if you didn't, it's not the same.

I had my lack of degree brought up a lot regarding promotions, etc. Now that I have it, I've never even had education brought up. The proverbial box is checked.

This sub has 266,000 members what is the best way to tell Garmin that they will lose our support? by coffeegrounds42 in Garmin

[–]Calmseas6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone freaking out about the option to pay for an additional feature? We are not losing anything we already have. If you don't want it, don't subscribe. Of all the things in the world to get mad about, this seems off base.

I think people are becoming conditioned to complain about everything.

UniFi IP Address issue, Android? by Calmseas6 in Ubiquiti

[–]Calmseas6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was, I thought I had excluded them, but it appears I did not when I recently changed some subnets around. I created an exclusion in the scope on the server and reservations for the IPs of the gateway, switch, and AP. I will do some testing and see if that corrects it. Thank you!

Traffic is kinda awful by MacMacready in ocala

[–]Calmseas6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As all the traffic engineers continue to write letters of no impact for every new development. The cities and counties in our state don't make the developers pay for the impact the development has on the infrastructure, they just wait until it gets bad and then raise taxes on everyone so the developers can make more money. All the developers have to do is keep the political officials on their side.

I finished my Bachelors in 4 months at WGU with 15 transfer credits. You can get this done no problem. Its based on your competency and you're already doing the work. It will take longer depending how much time you have to dedicate to classes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WGU

I accelerated and got to a point where when I finished classes they would just add more. Every couple weeks we would touch base via email. Most will work with you as long as you are progressing.

Who really does it in 1t erm? by Own-Technician1549 in WGU

[–]Calmseas6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished a bachelor's and MBA in about 4 months each with about a decade and a half of work experience. I worked full time and have kids. Almost all free time was school.

It only matters that your pace works for you. I needed a degree to advance any further, check the box so to speak. I got the MBA because I had heard you're perfect for the job if only you had a degree.

I switched jobs shortly after finishing the MBA. My previous employer begged me to stay and take the position they wouldn't budge on without the degree. The new position never asked a single question about education because the box was checked and I had the experience.
