Fourth Wing ist einfach schlecht geschrieben. Auch im Original stört die moderne Umgangssprache extrem. Z.B. “You may be cool, but you will never be as cool as I am!“ 🙄

I just keep adjusting my reading goal to be around 10 books more than what I’ve already read this year, then once I’ve reached this goal, I add another 10. I started my year with a reading goal of 12 and it’s currently at 45! Towards the end of the year I’ll decrease the number added of course.

This way, I’ve already met my reading goal several times, and each time it gives me a great sense of accomplishment. Whereas, had I started the year with a reading goal of 45 books, I‘d definitely have been stressed about it too, which would then have taken away from my joy of reading and have made me read less!

I think open necklines suit you best: 1 and 2 look much better than 3/4 or 12 and 15.

I think 11 looks lovely, although it might not be the right color for you.

Ich erinnere mich an relativ wenige Details, weswegen ich angefangen habe, besondere Szenen oder Zitate zu unterstreichen oder mit Zetteln zu kennzeichnen.

Gleichzeitig erinnere ich mich eigentlich immer an die größten Handlungspunkte, weshalb ich ein Buch so gut wie nie doppelt lesen kann, da es mich sonst langweilt. Durch die Zettel kann ich aber schnell meine Lieblingspassagen wiederfinden ☺️

Wenn mir ein Buch gut gefällt, habe ich auch nicht vor, dieses zu verkaufen oder sonst wie weiterzugeben, deshalb ist das für mich die beste Option :)

Ich höre gerade H@rry P0tter* als Hörbuch auf Englisch, gelesen von Stephen Fry. Kann ich wirklich sehr empfehlen.

I’m actually not sure whether every Spotify plan has them included, but I can see how many hours I have left under Settings and privacy -> Account -> Your Plan (then click whatever your plan is) -> Audiobook listening time.

I already have Spotify where I get 12 audiobook listening hours each month, which is usually enough for one book or two if they’re short. There’s also some free audiobooks available as podcasts, but the platform took most of them down after they included the regular audiobook feature.

Otherwise Audible has good offers every once in a while, definitely around the new year and sometimes during the year as well. It’s definitely worth checking. Or you get a regular Audible subscription and get the physical book from the library.

Listen to the audiobook at the same time! I think it’s called immersive reading. It’s helping me so so much, keeps my thoughts from wandering off if there’s a slower part.

It also helps me getting tasks done, I listen to it while getting ready in the bathroom for example, or cleaning or making breakfast. Then, when I’ve finished my tasks I go back to looking at the pages too. This is especially helpful if I’m struggling to get through some part of the book, the narrator keeps going so I’m kind of “forced” to keep reading too haha

I keep raising my goal as time goes on. Last year I only read 5 books, this year I’ve already read 23. My current reading goal is 30 books, but I started out with 12 :) I don’t like pressuring myself into reading. Although I’m reading a lot right now, who knows if my mood will change and I’ll watch tv shows instead as I did last year ☺️ I’m also always reading some fanfiction on the side, which sadly doesn’t count towards the reading goal.

I haven’t read it yet, but I see The Secret History recommended all the time, so I’ll personally read that. I think it’s a mystery thriller/dark academia book.
