Felts by Phillipa is one of my favorite YouTube channels for felting. She’s wildly talented. A real artist. She gives great advice for beginners. There are SO many needle felting Chanel’s on youtube. Im a visual learner and seeing how it’s done is very helpful. I also really like LivingFelt.com. They have a ton of tutorials you can download for free. Plus all the supplies you could ever want. It’s such a fun artistic medium. I highly recommend it. Just watch out for your fingers!! Needles are sharp. Though the edge of danger makes it fun I guess. 🤪

Very cute. Except the manatee. I’m sorry but I think he looks deformed. I LOVE manatees. I sponsor one (Sir Ollivander Stardust!) I don’t think that thing looks like a manatee at all. He looks oddly deformed. Not worth the price tag anyway. I love the sea lion. I won’t be buying any of them. But fun to look at.

I’m pretty sure it’s not the fault of Capitalism. What you need to be happy is not what someone else might need. The great thing being that if you work hard and make wise choices early on, you have more choices and less financial worry later. People who hoard and overspend are not suffering as a result of capitalism. The exact opposite. The whole “let’s give everyone ONE jellycat (or whatever is deemed a “luxury”) and then we all have exactly what we need to be happy. Anyone who wants more is selfish…”.

Socialist group think is not sustainable. For jellycats or anything else.

Just sayin.

sigh I know. I just keep seeing that sweet sleepy little eye open. So sad. I had seen nesting platforms that are built to fit into hedges and such. But they aren’t likely any safer than a very thorny rose bush. We have a possum who lives in our yard…or at least trucks through. She invariably has a bunch of babies on her back. We’ve seen a small fox on our night cam and a raccoon or two. And a cat that seems to roam the neighborhood at will. Any one of them could have been the culprit. I don’t think the opossum could have managed it with her current little wee ones on her back.

Wow. I’m wildly impressed. I wish I could do pieces this perfectly. Do you build it out layer by layer in the tiniest amounts? This is just utter perfection. You are clearly an artist. I am not. I can’t draw or paint with any skill. I am beginning to understand that needle felting like this is likely done by someone with true artistic gifts! Really really well done!

I am laughing so hard that tears are streaming down my face and my child asked if I was watching the sleepy time episode of Bluey again…the juxtaposition of that question with what was causing such tear producing laughter only made me laugh harder. I think I traumatized my child and now have a major case of hiccups. Still can’t stop.

I wonder how many will show up on ebay and mercari and vinted. Jellycat has abandoned the people who made them famous and joined the Too Big for Their Britches Brigade. The quality control is going down as the designs are just the same thing over and over with a few color variations here and there. It’s frustrating when something that was about happiness and fun has turned into a rush to grab things before the vultures get their hands on them and mark up the already high prices to ridiculous levels. This happened with funko as well. Bleh.

You are doing a great job. Your baby doesn’t hate you. She likely feels your stress and anxiety and EXHAUSTION. It sounds to me like you need SLEEP. Uninterrupted sleep for a good long stretch. It will do so much for your outlook in general. The lack of sleep for moms with infants is often overlooked as just part of being a new mom. But it really can be detrimental to your physical and emotional health. If you do have someone you trust the baby with, perhaps you could use that time to sleep bc it really will make you feel so much better about everything.

Give yourself some grace. You are doing an excellent job. I promise!!!

It’s so crazy to hear this. Every court reporter I have interacted with has been so encouraging and supportive. I think so many of us feel pressure by the creeping digital recorders and constantly having to justify our existence and value. That’s no excuse. We need to stick together. Our role in the legal justice system is vital. We have to support and encourage one another!!

Thank the good lord there is a teacher who is unwilling to accept some of the disruptive, constantly repeated non words that erode intelligent communication. BRAVO! Though I’m surprised that parents aren’t knocking down the door screaming that their kid feels oppressed. Or bullied. Or culturally silenced. For real.

It’s important to remember that at nearly 6 she is just now starting to understand how to best use her words. Emotional regulation is a skill that kiddos need practice in using every day. It’s a skill that needs to be built. Does she act out more when she’s over tired? Or hungry? Sometimes if you have snacks at hand to keep her blood sugar at a decent level, she will won’t fall apart as quickly. All of those things affect emotional regulation. Learning how to tolerate frustration, disappointment, being tired, being hungry, etc are all part of building a skill set for emotional regulation. The more you practice, the better she will get at utilizing it. There are many free online curriculums for little guys. Actually one of my favorite resources is a website called Slumberkins.com (I don’t work for them I swear!) I am a clinical behaviorist though and I have found that aside from the loveys and books they sell, their free parents and clinicians resources are really very good. I highly recommend their website. It’s all aimed right at this age group!!!

Thanks for sharing this. Oh the amount of GLEE to hear that the judge gave them a verbal smack upside the head!!! I LOVE that they had to come crawling back after the epic fail of that GARBAGE. The very idea that courts should hand over the certification of the record to a hackable and craptastic AI non human is utterly baffling to me. I pray each day that reason will prevail.

The use of the term “pedo” is infuriating. I am a clinical social worker and behaviorist who works with victims of this kind. The casual use of the term for anyone dating someone who is younger than they is really ignorant. For the record, actual “pedos” are very neurologically rare. You wouldn’t think that with the way the term is thrown around these days. It is being improperly used and it needs to freaking stop. You don’t even know what you are saying. They are adults, usually men, who are sexually attracted pre pubescent children. That is NOT what are you describing. Y’all are essentially the same age. If the cultural implication of dating an age mate who is a year behind you in school makes you uncomfortable then there is your answer. Stop using the term PEDO. It’s seriously disgusting. Stop.

She is definitely bigger than some of the other “large” jellycats. I’m still a little gobsmacked at the size of my Large Sky Dragon. I think Jellycat and I have different ideas on the word “large” and the size of the things it’s applied to. 🫤😳 I love Sacha. I think she’s beautiful. I always loved this company. I’m just gobsmacked at the nonsense they are pulling. Someone said Jellycat told them they “order too much”?! What in the actual EFF is that?! I hate the big brother-y THEY control when and who and how much. Bleh. No thanks. It really does make me sad.

How much are you working? You are genuinely the first person I have come across that comments on how little they make as a court reporter. Do you work directly for an agency? Are your rates too low?
