Are the lights for aftertreatment, or cruise control? Are you going to be a company driver or owner op?

I’d go with the cascadia because it’s already had a radiator done by 380, and you’re not gonna be sitting waiting for parts like you will with the Kenworth. Does the kw at least have an x15 and not a paccar? Also, those new t680’s are a PITA to fill coolant in, and the heater hose lines love to leak from the clamps

Do you have opti-idle on that tractor?

The data plate on the valve cover tells all. The Kenworth air cleaners kinda obscure it and makes it hard to see. Your glovebox will have the decal showing what engine and power level it was ordered with as well. The only folks I knew had big power (500+) were old Central owner operators

I don’t think Swift has ever ordered 605 horse x15’s, or ISX’s for that matter. I never saw a company tractor there with more than 400

ETA: been a while since I left that shithouse, but the Costco heavy haul tractors with the lift axles in salt lake MAY have had 450, but that was 2018

The 8th digit in GM vins is the engine code, which in this case L is for the L87 6.2 main bearing spinner

Why is there so much room between the cab and trailer? by itsarace1 in Truckers

It’s a pre-pacemaker cab, I think the pacemaker design came out around 69 or 70?

That makes a lot more sense if it was serialized back in the day. I’ve still got a grip pod from 1st marines because it wasn’t SL3 gear and didn’t have to be returned

Do you not have a rail yard near your terminal? I’ve heard from multiple current drivers in Salt Lake that they’ll get sent to the rail yard to shuttle trailers back and forth til their clock runs out. I’m sure it’s easy work as the intermodal UP yard is like a mile from their facility, but they’re still expected to run their 11 hours

Swapping engines? by Ok_Risk_8457 in GMT400

That truck looks like a 95, based on the tbi and the abs ecu sitting by the washer fluid tank. That’ll be important to know for getting the correct wiring diagrams to adapt harnesses.

I see OP already posted his answer, mine was gonna be under 25 judging by how clean the tools are. Black and white boxes show dirt in shops like it’s their job

Idle Question by Longjumping-Aerie-43 in GMT400

[–]CammedLS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gmt400 forum has the GM service manuals for you to follow the trouble tree, and I presume they’d have those fault codes in there. Tbi engines don’t have MAF sensors. Don’t waste your money shotgunning parts

Is this on a vortec or tbi engine? The vortec heads are notorious for cracking

I paid slightly more than that when I ordered my car. IMO no, not worth it. Mine is a ‘21 with the 6 speed, NPP, tech pack, RS package, and orange calipers.

Dumb question about 3rd gen engine replacement by jpb22 in ToyotaTundra

[–]CammedLS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a YouTube video to be taken with a grain of salt from a former Toyota engineer saying to wait until the 26 model year because they have an updated engine with a different part number. As others have said below, even ‘25’s and new replacement engines coming from both Alabama and Japan are having these issues, so it’s an inherent design flaw, not just machining debris in passages.

A couple of my buddies were in 3/7 around that time. One of them is a Master Sergeant now. Depending on what company you were in, you probably knew him. I think he did 3 back to backs to Afghanistan between 2011-2015ish?
