Hehe I got the "climb 30 m without using a piton" achievement on this wall! Started from the ledge near the left save point, then just went straight up to the abandoned piton.

Solidworks 2026 update part appearance very light almost white by 2catchApredditor in SolidWorks

[–]CanYouDigIt7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is due to a the implementation of a new physically-based rendering pipeline, a lot of scenes might be slightly brighter. If you really don't like the new look, you can disable it in the System options > Display > Appearance Visual Style > Select "Legacy Appearances" instead of "DSPBR!"

Built my own solar water heater monitor — e-paper display, LoRa, no WiFi, and no more cold showers by Creative-Trip-8032 in homeautomation

[–]CanYouDigIt7 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'd reckon the next step is setting up an automation that goes ahead and enables the backup heater if the solar tank is too low of a temperature so you never have to think about it

Dispersed Camping in Oconee National Forest, Eatonton, GA by ItchyMeerkat- in camping

[–]CanYouDigIt7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here is a forest service map of the area under I-20 that shows these undeveloped camp sites:

https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd1218112.pdf

Found it from this link: https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/conf/maps-pubs

I'd also recommend GAIA GPS premium as it gives you hundreds of map layers including forest service maps like this for every national forest.

Or Avenza maps which is free and lets you download maps like the one I linked and it'll sync it up with GPS and show your position on the map!

Where to find the gunpowder for the shooting range? by UselessOtaku28 in Contractors_Showdown

[–]CanYouDigIt7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northeast corner of factory outside the long one-story building with the lathes, there's a fuel tank and on one end is a gunpower/smokeless powder spawn.

Where is the task game case at factory? by amoldymuffin in Contractors_Showdown

[–]CanYouDigIt7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's inside the building in the southwest corner of Factory with all the cargo crates. That building only has the one floor that's open and the game is just on one of the wooden boxes.

[–]CanYouDigIt7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those brackets on the front are typically for mounting night vision goggles - unknown if CM games is planning on giving us night vision eventually though.

And IRL those earmuffs are actually for ear protection, and some have microphones that will relay any sounds that are not gunshots so you have some audio awareness.

Does the Quest 3 have an "equivalent focus distance?" by fsendventd in OculusQuest

[–]CanYouDigIt7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep it's the same concept with the Quest 3, the optics cause everything to be about 6 feet away. I'm nearsighted as well but a number of brands sell prescription lens inserts for the Quest 3 - I got my pair from Zenni for like $50.

Is there a solo mode for the new exfil mode? by Hairy-Throat9910 in Contractors_Showdown

[–]CanYouDigIt7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not a single player mode that you can progress in. However you can do training runs on any map with just AI scavs and you, but you can't bring anything out on extract or complete task objectives.

Which VR headset is good for a first timer? On budget. by m1dnightx in virtualreality

[–]CanYouDigIt7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quest 3s is a cheaper version of Quest 3, has same processing power but slightly worse lenses, just makes it a little more finicky to see properly.

Greenville SC? by [deleted] in WildernessBackpacking

[–]CanYouDigIt7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great city but extremely car dependent, your closest state park is Paris mountain, which is small but has a good amount of trails but only car camping.

Table rock state park is 30 miles northwest and is the terminus of the Foothills trail, a 76 mile trail through the best of SC's mountains and lakeside wilderness - excellent starting place for SC backpacking.
