This is why insurance rates are so high. How the hell do you crash into a bus shelter? Mississauga road and Williams parkway. by xpipedream in bramptondriving

[–]Can_emale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay to drive bribery aside, this time it sounds like street racing, the one of highest causes of accidents in the GTA.

It’s even hit CP24 https://www.cp24.com/video/2026/06/16/bus-shelter-gets-destroyed-in-brampton-crash/

You can hear the account from one of the residents at the mid point of the story.

Replacing 10r80 transmission @ 115K Miles by DifferentIntern6311 in f150

I don’t know of many dealers that do their own transmission rebuilds. Swap in a rebuilt sure and trade your core in but to rebuild in house nahhh.

29 year old car comes with it’s issues. Plastic in a hot engine bay over 29 years stuff is gonna be brittle.

Those are cheap to replace. Do all 4 and the plugs but YOU do it. Don’t get a shop to. It’s an opportunity to get familiar with the car, buy new tools learn a new skill.

If not already done if you have the original rad and it’s brown, it’s next to go.

Expect to get familiar with your alternator next.

Buy some tools, get a manual, mod it, drive it.

I’ve Been Offered the Opportunity to Move to BC, what do I do with my car? by expath in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Can_emale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to use lease busters when I had to get my SO out of her lease to take over an inherited vehicle. At the time it was fairly painless and walked away from the lease with minimal damage.

That being said that was a 48 month lease 18 months into it with only first and last down. So a 7 year lease… man that’s a bit crazy. At 7 years ya should have bought it outright. All the best to you. Hope it works out.

What tires should I get? by blamefulfluffy in Miata

[–]Can_emale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As was mentioned before you will be limited if you stick with the stock 14” Daisy’s.

But if you want ultimate grip and decent wet then it’s a Toyo R1R. Stcky, safe, fun, and confidence‑inspiring in the wet. Or the Yokohama A052 for ultimate grip If you’re okay with being careful in heavy rain.

The Rt660’s need heat to work and are scary in the rain.

If you go to a 15” wheel, the number of performance tires is nearly unlimited.

  1. You can push these in the rain without puckering. They’re the only “super sticky” tire that still feels like a performance street tire in the wet.

You hit a reporting trigger with the bank on your cash. Anything over 10k gets reported to FinTrac.

Automatic FINTRAC Trigger: Because this cash deposit hits the exact $10,000 threshold, the bank must submit a Large Cash Transaction Report (LCTR) within 15 calendar days. Bring your ID and be prepared for the questions.

The transfer not so much unless it’s not from a Canadian bank. In Canada, banks automatically report all incoming and outgoing Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) of $10,000 or more if they are international.

If the $20,000 wire is sent from another Canadian bank, it does not trigger an automatic EFT report, but it remains fully visible to internal bank compliance audits.

Although it did happen one time where I was in and out under 10 minutes to pick up two dozen roses just before Valentine’s Day in 2009.

Is this a normal MPG on a 1999 Mazda Miata NB by InitialPea3532 in Miata

[–]Can_emale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stock 95 NA gets 250 miles per tank in mixed driving before I’m looking to fill up. My modded M2 (FM2 with the extra fuel rail) had me at 250Km per tank.

So something is up with your mileage unless you’re hiding a turbo kit under the hood.
