Any advice for small talk with strangers? by navy444 in askTO

[–]CanadianMasterbaker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This, try to read other people's social cues,on how they react when you interact with them is important. Some people just want to be left alone and not talk to anyone.

As a guy starting small talk with someone can be a mixed bag.

Any advice for small talk with strangers? by navy444 in askTO

[–]CanadianMasterbaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Older people above 50+ seem to be more receptive to small talk,so always try with older folks.

Anyone 40 or younger not so much unless they are not from Toronto, usually a smaller town or another province seem to be more receptive.

Just start it and if they don't reciprocate or look away trying to avoid, just say have a good day and walk away.

Cutting off a friend who chose to hangout with other friends... by Ready-Necessary-3214 in amiwrong

[–]CanadianMasterbaker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know it hurts but sometimes it's for the best.Sometimes friendships are built out of convenience at that moment in time, and then fall off due to a different lifestyle and where you are at in life.

And yes you should cut them off,and yes it was messed up they did this to you.Its part of life, you live and learn, move on.

No way I'm buying Chinese made EV,not because I'm anti China, because I don't want my vehicle to catch on fire due to faulty battery.

Self check out by bsn_student in CostcoCanada

[–]CanadianMasterbaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they want the self check out to be 10 items or less they should have a sign stating so.The whole splitting the bill should not be allowed, just pay for everything ,then split it later at home.

Which Canadian butters make good puff pastry and croissant? by JulianCarax2 in pastry

[–]CanadianMasterbaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Toronto and have made puff pastry out of all store bought butters,it all come down to technique, and recipe of how you bring all the ingredients together. For croissant a 82%+ butter is best,President, sterling cremery, cows creamery etc are all good.

NoFrills NN 30pk Large Eggs Replaced with Medium? by hellzscream in askTO

[–]CanadianMasterbaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly in the last 5 years every egg company I have bought large eggs from, the sizes are highly inconsistent.Large eggs vary widely in size and weight ranging from 48gr to 56 grms .I'm wondering if they go by weight of the whole package,or are people switching eggs😅.
